As the domestic political situation changed, Du Yuesheng went to Hong Kong with his family in April 1949. Du Yuesheng was rich in Shanghai, and when he was in Hong Kong, he was plagued by illness and relied on friends for his daily life.

Du Weisong was only 29 years old when he died, and his mother Yao Yulan was in pain, so she bought a cemetery at Chongde Cemetery in Taipei City to bury it, and the tombstone was engraved with the date of birth and death and "the tomb of the deceased man Du Weisong (named Hanzhi), the mother Du Yao Gu Xiangli".
The reason why Du Weisong will be stimulated is most likely that he was used to the life of a brother in law, and suddenly fell into the civilian life, which was difficult to accept for a while, coupled with mental illness, which eventually led him to choose the path of suicide.
