This is a historical event that occurred in Linhuaiguan, Anhui during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
Linhuaiguan has a long history, which belongs to Haozhou in ancient times, is a key place in history, and is also one of the four historical towns in Anhui Province. In 1938, the Battle of Xuzhou began, and Linhuai Pass became one of the main battlefields for the enemy and us to compete.

According to historical records, one of the Japanese troops attacking Linhuai Pass was Tim Tian's troops, while the defenders were two divisions of the Northeast Army's Yu Xuezhong 51st Army. This was originally an unbalanced battle, and from January 6, the Japanese Kou bombed Linhuai Pass with aircraft, and the masses hid in air raid shelters and basements. The Japanese plane dropped bombs next to the post office on Diankou Street, between the Hujia Oil Shop and the Zhangjia Qingguo Shop, destroying more than a dozen rooms and killing several people.
(On February 1, 1938, after the Japanese occupied Linhuai Pass in Fengyang, Anhui Province, they marched along the railway destroyed by the Chinese army toward Bengbu by the Japanese Tiantian troops.) )
At this time, in the face of the Japanese fighters, our army had no ability to fight back. The only thing that could be done was to preserve its strength and wait for the Japanese ground forces to attack.
(February 1, 1938, the first day of the Lunar New Year, was supposed to be a national celebration, but the Japanese did not pause their invasion of China, and after they occupied Linhuai Pass in Fengyang, Anhui Province, their Captain Tiantian (left seat) continued to deploy new operational orders.) )
At this time, the Japanese had already dispatched 16 divisions and regiments with a total of 230,000 troops, along the Jinpu Railway, one south and one north, and attacked the strategic stronghold of Xuzhou in two ways. Yu Xuezhong, with a strength of about 25,000 troops in the two divisions of the 51st Army, stubbornly defended Bengbu and fought a bloody battle at Linhuai Pass, resisting the crazy attack of 40,000 people in the three divisions of the Japanese Kou, including Tim Tian's troops.
Detailed accounts of this battle are now difficult to find, but the results are recorded in authoritative chronicles: in the eight consecutive days of defense, the 51st Army held the Huai River at the cost of more than 7,000 casualties, while the casualties of the Japanese Kou reached more than 9,000. This battle, which contained the enemy and supported Taierzhuang, can be said to have achieved outstanding military achievements.
However, General Yu Xuezhong's outstanding performance at Linhuai Pass also angered the murderous Rikou, and on February 10, in retaliation, the Japanese invaded Huangnisaka, and they killed people when they saw them. Some of the people in the village were stabbed to death by bayonets, some were shot to death, some were killed by their entire families, and in a short time, the whole village was littered with corpses. According to records, on this day, more than 1,000 people were brutally killed by the Japanese Kou in and around Huangnisaka Village.
