Zhao Girl Reading - December 2021 Reading Report

This month I also read 2 books, one "Anna Karenina", one "Dear Life", one is a long novel, and the other is a collection of short stories.

Anna Karenina, a novel wrapped in the cloak of love that explores the pursuit of life.

I think the advantage of a novel is that you can show in detail what you want to express without worrying about the length of the article. Another benefit of the novel is the integrity of the storyline, the three-dimensionality of the characters, and the depth of the discussion.

Long but not nonsensical, miscellaneous but not obscure, deep but not mysterious.

In my opinion, a novel with a good grasp of scale can be a good, read-through novel that is worth savoring repeatedly.

Anna is one such book. "Anna" writes the story of Anna and Levin, which revolves around love but narrates change and growth.

Although two people are a man and a woman, the ending is good and the other is bad, but in fact, it is not the two choices of people for happiness and love for the pursuit.

Anna, the choice is freedom to do as you please.

Her love was unethical and moral, stepping on the pain of her husband and son. She is willful, spontaneous, and free. She can ignore the world's eyes for love, and stay away from familiar social circles for the sake of the future. Even when he died, he let his own heart and did not care about his family.

And Anna was lucky. Vronsky loved her so much that he could even give up his future, his life, his life, for her, even though I thought it would be extremely stupid to do so.

Anna's charm should lie in her beauty, her freedom, her wantonness, her life's assertion. If most people's lives are in order, like a small tree growing into a big tree. Anna's life is a flower, she grows, blossoms wildly, and then suddenly withers. For the blooming flower, she was willing to give everything and even her life for it.

Levin, the choice is patience and restraint.

Compared with Anna, Levin is able to let people see more and more three-dimensional human side. His entanglement in the face of feelings, the resistance of strangers, and the disgust of his newborn child are the deeper emotions that Anna does not show in addition to love, as if people feel poked in the heart. Levine grew up slowly, always thinking and self-critical, even if he occasionally indulged in it.

Levine spends most of his time in the book patient and restrained. He loves Ji Di but has always endured not to confess, and after confessing, he is sad but does not deliberately perform, but when he has the opportunity to meet again, he does not take the initiative to grasp it. If Oblanski hadn't finally called him to a party, he might have missed out on his happy life.

He will also put up with her family, relatives, and even relatives' friends for Ji Di. He obviously didn't like politics, and when he was called to a meeting by his brother, he was bored and attended. He has the contradictions and entanglements of most people, the confusion and helplessness of the people in that era, and the difficulty of self-clarification brought to him by the identity of the landlord.

Fortunately, he finally reconciled himself and went with the flow.

There are many possibilities in life, and there are many choices in life, and whether to be free or restrained is sometimes decided in an instant. Just as when Anna first saw Vronsky, she had already sensed danger, and she had restrained herself, but she had fallen anyway.

In the face of desire, morality is the bottom line, but how many people can understand this.

Self-reconciliation is really an elusive thing, and some people can't do it in their lifetime.

[When everyone talks about the other's deeds, he will say that it is justified and beneficial, but in his heart he is contemptuous.] 】

[The colorful life, all the charm, all the beauty, is composed of light and darkness. 】

Some people, when they encounter an opponent who is superior to themselves in any way, can't wait to put aside the good side of the other party and look at the bad side of the other party. There are some people on the contrary, who most want to find the other party's qualities in the victorious opponent than their own, so they endure the pain of heart-wrenching pain to find the strengths of the other party. 】

Dear Life, a collection of Monroe's short stories.

It feels like the author is particularly good at flashbacks or interspersed narratives. It will make you feel unclear at first sight, so goodbye with a little clue, after watching the water moon cave day.

The first little story that surprised me was the kind of story where you can come up with an entire story by writing only one name. Not full of words, not even full, but it can leave you with imagination and amazement.

The last four stories in the book are written about the author's own life. You'll find that it's less dramatic, readable, and interesting than some of the stories that preceded it, and it's more repetitive, superimposed, and repetitive. But as the author himself says, this is the difference between writing a story and living a life. Life is monotonous, bland, and lacking ups and downs, but you have to admit that this is life, this is the life of everyone, this is the reality that has happened and happened thousands of times, and will continue in the future.

As the title of the book says Dear Life. We desire to be different and unusual, but we also accept monotony, boredom, day after day. No matter what it looks like, we love it.

[Don't pay attention, don't bother, don't recommend, although in every housework skill and skill, she is far better than her daughter-in-law.] 】

[This dream is actually very much like the weather in Vancouver—a gloomy longing, a sadness like rain and dreams, a burden that surrounds the heart.] 】

[Sometimes she says his name out loud and embraces her stupidity.] What followed was a wave of extreme shame that made her despise herself. It's stupid indeed. stupidity. 】

[Greta hopes he's not the kind of adult who makes friends with children primarily to test his charms, and gets bored and throws tantrums when they find out how tirelessly a child might like someone.] 】

[He said that there was probably an advantage to becoming a Catholic, that is, to leave yourself a way back until you died.] 】

【Care? The girl had grown up and, like everyone else, had learned to be complacent and bargain. Time is wasted, lives are wasted, people who scramble for excitement but turn a blind eye to what really matters. 】

[Now she wants to live, not read.] 】

Accept everything, and then the tragedy disappears.] Or at least, the tragedy becomes less heavy, and you are there, moving forward in this world without restraint. 】

This made her smile while turning around and shedding a few tears of relief.] 】

[For some men money never gets tired.] 】

[That talent has been noticed, or used to make a living, but it's not enough to cling to it for a lifetime.] 】

"I describe all the details so that you can notice me and know that it's me, and not run away from another beautiful woman who happens to be at the train station." ”】

[Things can be locked up and hidden, just make up your mind.] 】

[Everywhere it is proclaimed that this is life.] As if we need it, more life. 】

[His willingness to do as I say this makes me feel mixed feelings of both anger and admiration.] This feeling has been throughout our lives together. 】

Their appearance and voice still exist in my fantasies that are not entirely about love, but they are long gone. Some people, a lot of people, are gone. 】

[It's not a story, it's just life.] 】

[We talk about things that can't be forgiven, things that we can never forgive ourselves.] But we forgive, we forgive every time. 】
