Zhou Xiaohua, a native of Jiangyan, Taizhou, became acquainted with Director Sun Jin in 2015 due to breast cancer. "At that time, I felt that there was something growing on the right breast, and there was a hard lump on the touch, and then in a short period of time, the lump grew bigger and bigger, and I rushed to the hospital for a B ultrasound examination." Zhou Xiaohua recalled that the examination showed that she was likely suffering from a malignant breast tumor. Zhou Xiaohua admired and found Director Sun Jin. At Taizhou Maternity Hospital, Sun Jin underwent radical surgery for her right breast cancer and underwent comprehensive treatment after surgery. Director Sun Jin's return visit on the same day surprised Zhou Xiaohua and was also very excited: "I have been operating for 6 years, you have not forgotten me, you still come to visit me, my state is not bad." "As a doctor, the biggest wish is to see patients recover their health and live a high-quality life." Sun Jin told reporters that the reason for choosing to be a doctor was due to the early death of his father, mother and brother, and it was the disease that took the lives of three relatives. In 1963, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, which spread after surgery and unfortunately passed away. At the same time, his father died of a sudden illness. Later, his brother died of illness at the age of 34. Since then, she has set her ambition to save patients from medical treatment, and with unremitting efforts, she was admitted to the Department of Clinical Medicine of Nantong Medical College and returned to her hometown Taizhou People's Hospital in 1978 to work in surgery. "To be a conscientious and loving doctor" is Sun Jin's vow.

One day in 1983, the hospital received an elderly female patient sent from a welfare home who had a ruptured spleen due to trauma, hemorrhagic shock, and required immediate surgery. According to medical regulations, the family must sign before the operation, but she is an elderly person from a five-insured household in a welfare home and has no relatives. Sun Jin performed splenectomy for the patient, which was successful. After the operation, the patient had no relatives, and she chose to stay in the ward and did not go home for three consecutive days until the patient was stable. Sun Jin recalled that the reason why she did this that year, in addition to her duties, was also influenced by Xin Jiayi, a senior thoracic surgeon at the hospital. At that time, every time Director Xin performed open surgery for the patient, he would "pull" a small bed next to the patient's bed at night for his own rest, so that he could deal with the abnormalities after the operation at any time.

In 2005, with the support of the leadership, Sun Jin established the Breast Surgery Department, which increased the number of patients admitted to the hospital from dozens of people a year to more than 400 cases, and 305 cases of surgical patients in the whole year. One of the breast cancer patients who has been combined with lung metastasis, Sun Jin performed surgery for the patient after trying his best to persuade her husband, and after the operation, a series of comprehensive treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, endocrine therapy were carried out, and the patient recovered very well, and after a year of re-examination, the lung, bone, and systemic metastases lesions have completely disappeared. With noble medical ethics and exquisite technology, Sun Jin was a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Breast Professional Committee and a standing member of the Jiangsu Provincial Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Endocrine (Thyroid, Breast Surgery) Professional Committee.

"For more than forty years I have been practicing medicine, saving lives and helping the injured, writing in the spring and autumn under the shadowless lamp, and vowing to compete with the disease."
