Mr. Tang, 46, was in good health when he was young, and in recent years he could not walk and could not lift heavy objects, and the examination found that his heart had become hypertrophied, which was a great health risk. At Wuhan Asian Heart Hospital, experts used minimally invasive techniques to successfully "lose weight" for the heart, and Mr. Tang and his patients recently sent a pennant to the medical team.

Four years ago, Mr. Tang, who has always been in good health, deteriorated and was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. "I can't walk, I can't lift heavy objects, and I don't have any strength under my body." Mr. Tang described.

Mr. Xiao, who has the same trouble, has chest tightness and panting after a little exercise, and the doctor told him that he has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and the thickness of the ventricular septum is 30 mm, which is 2-3 times that of normal people. He sighed and said, "Before, I only knew that my body would be fat, but my heart would also be fat." ”

They visited a number of hospitals and got answers that were either conservative medication or surgical open chest opening, and eventually they went to the Asian Heart Hospital.

Xiao Hongyan, director of the hospital's multidisciplinary precision diagnosis and treatment center for cardiomyopathy, told them that percutaneous myocardial ventricular septal radiofrequency ablation could be used to "lose weight" for their hearts. This is a minimally invasive technique, the doctor under the ultrasound positioning, guidance, through the intercostal space precision puncture, the ablation needle of less than 2 mm is accurately sent to the ventricular septal hypertrophy, releasing radio frequency current, dehydration and necrosis of abnormally hypertrophic myocardial tissue, thinning the ventricular septum, dredging the blocked left ventricular outflow channel, and lifting obstruction.

In July last year, under the cooperation of the operating room, anesthesiology, ultrasound and other disciplines, the two patients successfully performed "bariatric surgery" on the "fat" heart through Director Xiao Hongyan. The next day after the operation, the two of them can get out of bed, and a week later, they are discharged from the hospital.

After 18 months of follow-up and comprehensive data analysis, the thickness of the ventricular septum of Mr. Xiao and Mr. Tang dropped to the normal value range (less than 13 mm), the left ventricular outflow tract pressure difference returned to normal, and the obstruction was completely lifted.
