Such a Japanese ace division, which has set a record of fighting against more than 70 divisions successively, has suffered many losses in front of one person in history, and this person is our protagonist Pang Bingxun today.
In history, Pang Bingxun was a lieutenant general plus the rank of general in the army, but his path to the army was full of twists and turns.
Pang Bingxun, who was born in a small village in Hebei Province, received a private school education when he was a child, and later followed the example of Ban Chao.com. He studied surveying and mapping, worked as a surveyor in the army, and participated in the League. After the outbreak of the Xinhai Revolution, it was the time to make meritorious achievements, but he was forced to abandon the army and return to his hometown because he was suspected by his superiors.
Pang Bingxun was born in 1879, and the Xinhai Revolution was in 1911, when he was over thirty years old. Although he did a small business, Pang Bingxun had a very good set, but in the face of the natural disasters in the old society and the people's livelihood caused by the chaos of the army, Pang Bingxun had no choice but to join the army for the second time, when he was 41 years old. Fortunately, this time, Pang Bingxun did break through in the army.
In just a few years, Pang Bingxun was promoted from adjutant of the mixed brigade to regimental commander, brigade commander, and division commander step by step. He received the rank of lieutenant general in 1935. During the Central Plains War, although he relied on the shrewdness of the Shang Dynasty, he avoided the heavy and saved his strength, and replenished himself with captured weapons and ammunition. But the real knife and real gun fight, Pang Bingxun also has two brushes.
During the First Zhifeng War, Pang Bingxun was injured in one leg by a cannonball of the Feng army on the front line, and almost lost his life, and during the Central Plains War, he intercepted Han Fuqu, who had rebelled against Feng and surrendered to Chiang, almost destroying Han Fuqu's entire army. But what really let the Chinese people know his name was during the War of Resistance.
After the outbreak of the July 7 Incident, Pang Bingxun led his troops to the front line in the hot summer, holding out for 7 days and 7 nights to block the Japanese Isoya Tenth Division, killing and wounding a large number of Japanese troops at a heavy cost, and delaying the Japanese attack. During the Battle of Taierzhuang, Pang Bingxun again made friends with the Itagaki Division. Under his leadership, the troops stubbornly held their positions and withstood the attack of the Sakagaki Division. Finally, he and Zhang Zizhong jointly launched a counterattack, fiercely fighting for five days and five nights to drive the Sakagaki Division to Juxian County, and the corpses of the Japanese troops were scattered along the way.
According to li zongren, commander of the Fifth Theater at that time, there were no less than dozens of Chinese and foreign reporters and friendly military attaches who accompanied the army to watch the battle in the Xuzhou area, and no one could have imagined that a Japanese ace division was actually frustrated by an unknown miscellaneous unit, and Pang Bingxun became famous at that time.
During the Second Battle of Linyi, Pang Bingxun led his troops to fight a bloody battle, and with the support of Zhang Zizhong's Hui division, drove the Banyuan Division out of the army for more than 30 miles and lifted the siege of Linyi. Pang Bingxun was also promoted to commander-in-chief of the 24th Army for his meritorious service.
By 1941, Pang Bingxun was already old. Because of his poor health, his resignation was not approved on three occasions. Later, in a battle with the Japanese army, it was due to an accident and was late.
At that time, Pang Bingxun was stationed in the Taihang Mountains, and during a Japanese sweep to lead the headquarters of the group army and the headquarters of the 40th Army to the deep mountains to avoid the battle, because of an encounter, Pang Bingxun accidentally fell alone and became the commander of the light pole. With the help of local villagers, Pang Bingxun hid in a cave. Sun Dianying received the news and reported to the Japanese army, and after being found by the Japanese army, Pang Bingxun finally surrendered to the Japanese army and took up a false post.
Although Pang Bingxun later attempted to break away from the Japanese army, he failed to make the trip due to the failure of his plan. After the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the surrender of military power, Pang Bingxun once lived idly, living in Taipei in his later years, sharing a restaurant with others.
