Chen Changfeng, a native of PipalingNao Village, Tiantou Township, Ningdu, Jiangxi Province, whose family was very poor when he was a child, went to look for the Red Army and joined the army at the age of 14, because he was very resourceful and flexible, and began to join the Red Army in the second year, from 1930 to 1937, for more than seven years, the service soldiers who had been the high-level leaders of the Red Army participated in the first to fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression" struggles in the central revolutionary base areas and the twenty-five thousand mile long march.

At the beginning of 1934, in the face of the "encirclement and suppression" of the powerful forces of the Kuomintang reactionaries, the Red Army was passive in the battle, suffered heavy losses, the central revolutionary base area was shrinking day by day, especially the "Guangchang Defense War" was lost, and after the fall of Guangchang and Jianning, the situation in the Central Soviet Region deteriorated day by day. At this time, the first corps under the jurisdiction of the Central Red Army (Red Army) was the left wing, the third army was the right wing, the fifth army was the rear guard, and in the middle was a huge column of more than 86,000 people of the Central Military Commission.
Chen Changfeng followed the chief of the Central Red Army, bid farewell to the people of the Soviet Union, embarked on the road of the Long March, along the way, after countless hardships and difficulties and obstacles, in early June 1935, the Red Army and the Central Column of the Long March, after successfully seizing the victory of Luding Bridge, along the Dadu River down the river, the soldiers divided into two roads, starting from Hualinping, over the Feiyue Ridge, along the way, although the mountain road is difficult, but the speed is still relatively fast, the team entered the border of Xingjing County, to Ya'an Tianquan, Lushan, the terrain is slightly flat, the road is also easy to walk, However, enemy aircraft continued to harass the air above.
On this day, the Red Army contingent was marching in a hurry, and when Chen Changfeng and the chiefs climbed a mountain peak, suddenly, the sound of motors came from the air, and three enemy planes rumbled over the commander's advanced contingent, and the leader of the team shouted loudly, "Lying down." The words did not fall, only to see a huge bomb roaring down.
At this moment, a huge column of smoke was raised on the hillside, and with a loud noise, accompanied by the trembling of the earth, the bomb exploded next to the chief. At this moment, the guard squad leader Hu Changbao jumped up in the air and threw the chief to the ground to escape safely, but Hu Changbao was hit by several pieces of shrapnel, fell in a pool of blood, and could no longer stand up...
Chen Changfeng, a guard standing nearby, got up from the ground and saw that the chief was covered in dirt and was crouching next to Hu Changbao, shouting: "Xiao Hu, Xiao Hu, Comrade Hu Changbao..." Chen Changfeng rushed over, only to see Hu Changbao's face pale, his eyes hanging down, and his hands tightly covering his blood-soaked abdomen.
At this time, Hu Changbao slowly opened his eyes, looked at Chen Changfeng and said, "Please tell my parents that they live in Jishui, Jiangxi." Saying, he slowly closed his eyes and sacrificed heroically.
With tears in his eyes, Chen Changfeng buried Hu Changbao, a fellow villager, superior, and comrade-in-arms, and he could not forget it for a long time along the way, and he always remembered Hu Changbao's dying instructions: Help me see my parents!
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chen Changfeng was awarded the rank of colonel, and later promoted to colonel, and successively served as the deputy head of the teaching regiment of the Shandong Provincial Public Security Bureau, the chief of the Shandong Provincial Public Security Corps, the deputy commander of the Weifang Military Subdistrict, and later transferred to the commander of the Jiangxi Provincial Military Region and the secretary of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee.
Because of his place of work, Chen Changfeng came to Jishui, the hometown mentioned by Hu Changbao three times, went through all the materials, walked to many villages with the surname of Hu in Jishui, did not find Hu Changbao's parents and relatives, carefully investigated and understood Hu Changbao's situation, visited many elderly people, looked for relevant clues, and instructed local cadres and masses to look for them together. Not even an insider was found.
Later, in order to commemorate this comrade-in-arms, Chen Changfeng deliberately retook the Long March Road, came to the place where Hu Changbao was sacrificed, stood on the hillside where Hu Changbao fell, recalled the unforgettable past of more than forty years ago, gazed at the place where the martyr fell, and together with the local cadres and masses, collected some cultural relics from the place where Hu Changbao was sacrificed, and with his help, the local government also built a Memorial Hall of Hu Changbao.
Qingshan buried loyal bones everywhere, why should Ma Ge wrap the body back. Hu Changbao sacrificed himself on the Long March road for the victory of the revolution, and although his comrade-in-arms Chen Changfeng could not find his relatives in many ways, nor did he know where his hometown was, he became an unsung hero, but his glorious image will always live in our hearts.
In his later years, Chen Changfeng specially came to Beijing's Tiananmen Square, solemnly put on his military uniform, deeply saluted a military salute, and silently told his comrade-in-arms Hu Changbao that the revolution was victorious and the martyrs rested in peace.
In 1986, when Chen Changfeng died, he still told his family about this fellow villager, comrade-in-arms and superior Hu Changbao who sacrificed on the Long March Road, and it is gratifying that although you have not found your relatives, the people of the whole country are your relatives, and every year during the Qingming Festival in the Hu Changbao Martyrs Memorial Hall, many relatives come here to visit your graves, remember your deeds, and rest in peace.
