When I was a child, life at home was particularly difficult, not to mention eating meat, even pure rice is a luxury, we generally only at the time of the festival, or when the guests at home, we can eat rice plus corn, usually all corn rice.

1. Corn rice
Although the ingredients for corn rice are relatively easy and cheap, the process of making corn rice is very cumbersome. First of all, we have to grind the corn with a stone mill, right, the appearance of the stone mill does not understand whether you have seen it, as shown in the following figure:
Stone mills in Guizhou
Put the corn spoonful into the stone mill to grind it out, and then use a bamboo sieve to sift off a relatively fine part, and then steam it with a wooden steamer for the first time, steam it well, take it out, after a while, you have to sprinkle water, and then steam a second time before you can eat.
People with conditions will add the pre-cooked rice in the process of sprinkling water, stir it well and then steam it.
2. Bian (揙) 揙孰 rice
When I was a child, not only was rice rare, but lard was also very rare, mainly because farmers had a hard time raising a pig, which was sold at the end of the year, and then used the money to make more important stones, such as paying tuition for children. So there would be no meat at home, and at that time our lard was refined on the street scales, which were likely to come from pigs that were already sick and sold after freezing and hard pressing.
Because lard is not easy to come by, people will put rice into the pot of stir-frying immediately after frying, the purpose is to stick the oil in the pot to the rice, not to cause the waste of lard, and the fried rice also has a certain flavor.
3. Bibimbap in oil
In the past, life was not only hard, but also very busy in many cases, and many times, people were too busy to have time to eat, or could not wait to cook. So I will put the freshly cooked rice out, directly use chopsticks to stir a little lard in the rice, and then eat it directly. Even this kind of rice is very precious to us, because it is usually pure rice that is mixed with oil, and it can eat rice and oil again. When we were in elementary school, breakfast was either no, or rice in oil or corn rice in oil.
Summary: The article I wrote was living in Qianxian Prefecture, Guizhou, when I was a child, and I don't know how to do it elsewhere. Now that life is good, rice and oil are no longer a luxury, we should cherish today's life, glad that we are no longer hungry. Living every day happily is the best reward for the hard life of the past?
