Robin Li: Jidu's first automotive robot will be mass-produced and delivered in 2023

On December 27, Baidu held the 2021 Baidu Create Conference (Baidu AI Developer Conference) in the "meta-universe" space it built.

The theme of the conference is "Creator Spirit", which is the first time baidu has held a science and technology conference in the form of a meta-universe in China.

Baidu founder, chairman and CEO Robin Li said in his opening speech that intelligent transportation will be a major change affecting the next 10-40 years, so that China's first-tier cities will no longer need to limit purchases and traffic within 5 years, and basically solve the problem of congestion within 10 years. He believes that intelligent transportation can solve three major problems: First, reduce road safety accidents by 90%. Second, the system solves the congestion problem. Third, autonomous driving and intelligent transportation can help reduce carbon emissions.

The data shows that 94% of traffic accidents are caused by human factors, and autonomous driving will eliminate human factors. As technology matures, autonomous driving will be safer than human drivers. At the same time, Baidu's intelligent road system is achieving unimpeded traffic through vehicle-road collaboration. Experimental data prove that when all intersections in a city are intelligent and city-level regional information control optimization, the traffic efficiency can be improved by 15%-30%.

In terms of autonomous driving, Robin Li said that Baidu's "Radish Run" released in August has provided 115,000 services in the past quarter, becoming the world's largest self-driving travel service provider. At the same time, Robin Li announced the "next stop" of the radish run: it hopes to expand the service to 65 cities in 2025 and 100 cities by 2030.

At the same time, Robin Li revealed that in the first half of 2022, Jidu will announce the first concept car, and will mass-produce and deliver the first automotive robot in 2023, full of confidence in the future of Jidu. According to reports, the automotive robot developed by Jidu will have L4 level automatic driving capabilities, running through the three major product concepts of "free movement", "natural communication" and "self-growth". Robin Li said that revolutionary car robots with emotion and intelligence will bring about a long-term change in the way travel is done.

Not only that, in order to further reduce the application threshold of digital people, Baidu Intelligent Cloud officially launched the digital person platform, Baidu Intelligent Cloud Xiling, to provide a variety of digital human generation and content production services for all walks of life. Digital people can provide users with intimate services 24 hours a day.

At present, Baidu Cloud's domestic market share has reached 8.2%, and its market share is tied with Alibaba, Tencent, and Huawei as the "four clouds" in the domestic cloud computing market.
