General Chen Geng had two marriages in his lifetime, and his wife, Wang Genying, dedicated her life to the revolution. In 1923, Chen Geng was a teacher at the Shanghai Workers' Night School, while Wang Genying was a student, and Chen Geng's image of gushing on the podium left a deep impression on Wang Genying, but unfortunately, because the school was closed, Chen Geng returned to Hunan. In 1927, Chen Geng met Wang Genying again, in fact, Chen Geng liked this studious girl when he was in night school, after this encounter, he took the initiative to show love, and then married.
In 1939, Wang Genying was killed by a Japanese shell in order to save documents in a battle, and Chen Geng was saddened after learning about it.
Chen Geng's second wife, Fu Ya, was also a remarkable figure. Fu Ya's original name was Fu Huiying, born in Jingdezhen in 1918, and she grew up in a very good learning environment. In middle school, Fu Huiying participated in the Anti-Japanese National Salvation Movement. In 1938, she came to Yan'an with her younger siblings and began her revolutionary career, changing her name to Fu Ya.
She met Chen Geng in 1940, a year after Chen Geng's ex-wife had died, and his comrades wanted to find him a partner, and with the help of his friend Wang Zhitao, he met Fu Ya. For Chen Geng's heroic deeds, Fu Ya also has some understanding, after the two people met, talked a lot, Chen Geng also told her about his wife, Fu Ya was very fond of this serious soldier, and finally established a romantic relationship, the two married in 1943.
After marriage, Chen Geng has been fighting on the front line, Fu Ya has to take care of young children in addition to work, and the husband and wife are also together. After the founding of New China, their family life gradually stabilized. But Chen Geng still had to work hard for the construction of new China, and he worked day and night, and eventually became ill with overwork and collapsed in 1959. Before he could recover, he returned to work and died in 1961.
After Chen Geng's death, Fu Ya shouldered a heavy burden, she not only had to take care of the children, but also sent living expenses to Wang Genying's mother, but she did not complain, in this case, she also sorted out the materials left by Chen Geng, and the "Diary of Chen Geng" was also officially published under her efforts.
In fact, there was also a desire buried in Fu Ya's heart, that is, the desire to reunite with his relatives. After liberation, Fu Ya lost contact with her family, and now that decades have passed, she has lost hope and buried her thoughts of her loved ones in her heart. It wasn't until a letter in 1980 that she rekindled hope.
In the letter, he wrote that his parents had died of illness and hoped that his ashes could be buried on the mainland in the future. In 1984, Fu Ya's sister returned to Beijing with her parents' ashes and buried them in her hometown in Hangzhou, after which Fu Ya missed her relatives in Taiwan even more.
It was not until 1992 that Fu Ya, who was already 74 years old, had the opportunity to go to Taiwan accompanied by his sister, and as soon as he got off the plane, he saw his own strange and familiar faces. The young family members of that year were now white-haired, and fu Ya, who was full of tears, finally realized the wish he had in his heart for many years.
