At present, SAIC-GM's Wuhan plant mainly produces three fuel models: Buick K256 and Chevrolet K216/D2UC. The online car market has learned that SAIC-GM is carrying out the technical transformation of Buick models at the factory, and will put into production a new pure electric SUV codenamed "B223", which is larger in overall size than that of the same brand Oncovi. After the technical transformation, the total production capacity of the factory remains unchanged, the main change is to reduce the production of K216 to increase the production capacity of electric vehicles, so as to achieve the collinear production of a variety of models (the picture below is a Buick electric concept car, for reference)

It is reported that the B223 will be put into operation in 2023, with an annual production capacity of 75,000 units. The new car is based on the Aoteneng platform, with a length, width and height of 4819×1911×1568mm, which is larger than the same brand Encore, and the captain is ahead of the competitor Tesla Model Y. The B223 is available in power with a single motor (180kW) or dual motors (255kW) and a comprehensive power consumption of 13-14kW·h per 100 km. (Dimensional power data does not represent the final production version)
From the market level, at present, Buick only has two electric vehicles on sale, micro blue 6 and micro blue 7, covering the market of 150,000-230,000 yuan. According to the data, the total number of insurance vehicles in November for the two models was 1,881, of which 178 were insured in the micro blue 7, which is not in the same order of magnitude as the Volkswagen ID.3 and other competitive models. Consumers have a lot of products to choose from in the 200,000-yuan electric vehicle market, coupled with the influence of brand factors, which is also the main reason why the sales volume of the micro blue series is not high. After the B223 is listed, Buick is expected to further promote sales growth while enriching the product matrix.
