Bai Juyi (772-846), also spelled Lotte, was a resident of Xiangshan in his later years. His ancestral home was Taiyuan (present-day Shanxi), and he later moved to Lower Deng Yi (present-day Weinan County, Shaanxi). In the sixteenth year (800) of Emperor Dezong of Tang's reign, he was appointed secretary of the provincial school secretary.

Emperor Xianzong of Tang served as Zuo Shiyi and Zuo Zanshan during his reign. In literature, he and Yuan Shu were both advocates and backbones of the Xinlefu Movement, advocating that "articles are written for the times, and poetry is written for the sake of things", and opposing works that "mock the wind and snow, make flowers and plants" and have no sustenance. The language of his poems is popular, in-depth and simple, easy and natural, and does not show traces of carving.

His poems portray characters, with distinct images, moving people with emotion, and have high artistic attainments. This is a lyric poem written by Bai Juyi at the Feast of the Chongyang Festival.

The first two sentences, "The garden is full of flowers and chrysanthemums are golden, and there are lonely bushes that look like frost", describing the beautiful season when chrysanthemums are in full bloom. While drinking and admiring the flowers, the poet accidentally found a cluster of white flowers in the golden flowers of the garden, implying that the poet himself was old.

The last two sentences, "It is still like the song and banquet of the present dynasty, and the white-headed man enters the juvenile field", although he is old, he is still willing to drink with the younger generation and spend the Chongyang Festival together. It expresses the poet's pleasant state of mind and the heart of the master.

Bai Juyi's official fortunes have been sloppy all his life, and due to political disagreements, he has been repeatedly ostracized and has been depressed for a long time. Wang Xuetao, born on December 31, 1903 in Cheng'an, Hebei Province, died on November 24, 1982, his original name was Ting Jun, the character Xiaofeng, and the number Chi Yuan. He was taught by Chen Shizeng, Xiao Qianzhong, Tang Dingzhi, Wang Mengbai and other predecessors, especially by Wang Mengbai.

In 1924, Bai Baishi was made a teacher and changed his name to Xuetao on the orders of the master. Since the Republic of China, he is a painting master who has made outstanding contributions to the reform and innovation of traditional Chinese small-scale freehand flower and bird painting techniques.

He was the president of the Beijing Academy of Painting, a director of the China Artists Association, and the vice chairman of the Beijing Branch of the Artists Association.
