In September this year, Hong Kong Sanlian Bookstore, The Enlightened Branch of the Chinese Book Company of Hong Kong, the Commercial Press (Hong Kong), Hong Kong Zhonghe Publishing House and other publishing houses under the Hong Kong United Publishing Group selected 38 kinds of books to participate in the annual binding design competition, combined with professional judging and reader network voting, selected the "Outline of National History (80th Anniversary Edition)", "Mu Jian", "Centennial Party History in the Literature (1921-2021)" as the Heyan (Readers' Selection) Gold, Silver and Bronze Award, "Centennial Party History in the Literature (1921-2021)" N reasons why I live here" "600,000 meters to see China" for Yue set up (professional jury) gold and silver bronze award, and the grand prize (reader/ professional comprehensive score) "Mountain and Sea Beast". For the first time, these outstanding book works were made in a concentrated manner and met with Shanghai readers. At the same time, a number of binding designers in Shanghai and Hong Kong will share their design experience and creative sources through live video connection.

The publishing industries in Shanghai and Hong Kong are in the same Chinese publishing market, and the exchanges between the book industry have a long history. As early as September 1980, the Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House Book and Painting Exhibition was exhibited in Hong Kong Sanlian Bookstore, with more than 20,000 visitors, becoming the first book and painting exhibition held by Shanghai publishers in Hong Kong, China after the reform and opening up. Since then, the Shanghai Book Fair and Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition held by Shanghai Book Industry in Hong Kong have become a window for cultural exchanges between the two places and for readers from the two places to deepen their understanding and deepen cooperation with their book industry counterparts.

From August 1988 to July 2006, the Shanghai-Hong Kong Publishing Annual Conference was an important platform for cultural exchanges between the book industries of the two places, with themes ranging from "How to Chinese Books To the World", "Chinese Publishing Trends in the 1990s" to "Modern Publishing Concepts and Modern Publishing Technology", "Shanghai-Hong Kong Publishing All-round Cooperation for the New Century", covering all aspects of the development of the publishing industry and providing opportunities for in-depth exchanges between publishers in the two places.

In April 1990, Shanghai Sanlian Bookstore Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Shanghai Sanlian Bookstore, Hong Kong Sanlian Bookstore and Shanghai Book Company, was established, which was the first Shanghai-Hong Kong joint venture cultural enterprise approved by the State Press and Publication Administration. Shanghai Hong Kong Sanlian Bookstore features Hong Kong and Taiwan, social science, art and other books, and its business covers the United States, Britain, Germany, Japan, Singapore and other countries, as well as Hong Kong, Taiwan and other regions, to achieve global procurement.

It is reported that the Hong Kong United Publishing Group Binding Design Sharing Exhibition is the first activity to restart the publishing and cultural exchanges between Shanghai and Hong Kong, the second is planning for the most beautiful book poster exhibition in Shanghai and Hong Kong, will collect annual excellent book posters in Shanghai and Hong Kong, and after selection, it will be publicly exhibited in both places; the third is a synchronous book fair in the two places, respectively, in Shanghai and Hong Kong bookstores set up special shelves to display and sell 100 kinds of publications reflecting the cultural achievements of their respective regions, to show readers in the two places the credible, cute and respectable image of Shanghai and Hong Kong. Li Shuang, president of the Shanghai Book And Periodicals Distribution Industry Association, expressed his hope that this exhibition and the subsequent series of activities will be used as an opportunity to continue the road of publishing exchanges and cooperation between Shanghai and Hong Kong, and to open up new space for the cultural integration of Shanghai and Hong Kong and the joint cultivation of the Chinese publishing market. The exhibition runs until December 28 and is free to readers.
