In the fifth year of Hongwu, Zhu Yuanzhang moved Chen Li and Guiyi Hou Mingsheng to Goryeo together, and sent the Yuan Dynasty's subordinate privy councillor Yan'an Tora to escort them, and rewarded Luo Qi, the king of Goryeo, with kindness to them. At the same time, Zhu Yuanzhang also moved Chen Youyi's father, Chen Pucai, and his two older brothers to Chuyang.
When Chen Li arrived in Goryeo, he was known as King Chen, but his life was very difficult, and when he first arrived in Goryeo, the King of Goryeo rewarded him with nine ramie cloths. When it came to the Li Dynasty, Li Fangyuan, the Emperor Taizong of the Li Dynasty, rewarded him with some fields. After another two years, Li Fangyuan gave Chen Li a maid and rice beans.
At the end of the sixth year of Ming Yongle, Chen Li died of illness, and Li Chao's ceremonial department gave 50 stones of rice beans, 100 rolls of paper, and a coffin. Chen Lisheng had a son, Chen Mingshan.

Only after capturing Wuchang, because he was angry with Chen Youyu for repeatedly committing military offenses, he took his concubine and returned."
This concubine was Concubine Jian, who later bore Zhu Yuanzhang a son, Zhu Zi the Prince of Tan.
