Xiamen, December 20 (Xinhua) -- The 12th Annual Meeting of the Cardiovascular Professional Committee for Cross-Strait Medical and Health Exchanges and the Straits Cardiovascular Disease Summit Forum (CSCSF2021) was recently held in Xiamen, attracting more than 3,000 doctors to attend the meeting on the spot, and as many as 1.6 million people attended online.

One of the two organizers of the forum, the Affiliated Cardiovascular Disease Hospital of Xiamen University (hereinafter referred to as "Xiaxin"), said on the 20th that the forum was jointly held with the 23rd National Cardiovascular Annual Conference of the Chinese Medical Association, the most authoritative national academic exchange platform in the field of cardiovascular diseases in China, and set up nine channels in the form of online and offline combination, focusing on coronary intervention, structural heart disease, blood lipids, blood pressure, imaging, nursing and other fields, multi-angle and multi-faceted attention to the comprehensive management of patients with cardiovascular diseases.

Despite the impact of the epidemic, the enthusiasm of cardiovascular physicians to "discuss the sword" in the cloud has not weakened in the slightest, and more doctors from grass-roots and remote areas have also had the opportunity to participate.

The most attractive thing for the participating doctors is the wonderful cross-sea surgery live demonstration on both sides of the taiwan strait every year. This year's xiaxin surgical demonstration not only has difficult and complex coronary intervention surgery, but also a number of emerging cardiovascular minimally invasive technologies in recent years - transcatheter aortic valve replacement (referred to as TAVI surgery), mitral valve clamping and other stages, the surgical demonstrations are high-risk and difficult patients, the average age is more than 80 years old.

At present, Xiaxin has made breakthroughs in the field of minimally invasive interventional treatment of structural heart valve diseases, ranking at the forefront of the country, so that more and more patients with different types of high-risk aortic valve severe stenosis and severe mitral valve reflux can also enjoy minimally invasive surgery.
