After that, he went to his cronies in Yunnan and wrote this epitaph. From this epitaph, we can see that Geng Bingwen was killed in battle during the Battle of Jingnan, not surrender. After many studies, later scholars finally proved that Geng Bingwen was actually killed in battle. From two things, we can see that first, on the fourth day of Geng Bingwen's defeat, Li Jinglong went to take his place on the orders of the emperor, and according to the distance, he would never be able to arrive on the battlefield from the capital in four days, so Zhu Yunjiao must have been revealed in advance that Geng Bing was going to surrender, so he sent someone to replace him. Second, within ten days of Zhu Di entering the city, Geng Bingwen's wife committed suicide. Imagine if Geng Bingwen really surrendered, then why did his wife commit suicide?
