On April 25, Chiang Kai-shek left his hometown. The tribesmen sent Chiang Kai-shek off. Then someone asked, "When will the president come back?" Chiang Kai-shek did not answer, but only held out three fingers to everyone. Chiang Kai-shek did not explain what the three fingers meant, but he could not take a step on the mainland until his death.
Chinese pay attention to the return of leaves to their roots, and Chiang Kai-shek's coffin in Taiwan has not yet been buried, indicating that he is eager to be buried back on the mainland. Both Chiang Kai-shek and Chiang Ching-kuo were never able to return to their hometowns in their lifetimes, and their wish was fulfilled by their grandson Chiang Hsiao-yong. Chiang Hsiao-yong was Chiang Kai-shek's favorite grandson, who alone taught him to read the Four Books and Five Classics. Jiang Xiaoyong later recalled, "He taught sentence by sentence. He asked me to memorize it first, and then explain the meaning of the sentence. ”
In early 1996, Jiang Xiaoyong found that he often had stomach bleeding and a loss of appetite, and he realized that his body might be seriously ill. Jiang Xiaoyong went to the hospital for examination, and the doctor told him that the cancer cells had spread and that time was running out. On a sunny day, Jiang Xiaoyong was only 48 years old at the time, and he still had many important things to do, but the god of death was already infinitely close to him.
After treatment and a slight stabilization of his condition, Jiang Xiaoyong decided to do the most important thing, and he had to go to his hometown on the mainland instead of his father and grandfather. Soon, the media reported that Chiang Kai-shek's descendants hoped to return to the mainland and return to their hometown and relatives. Jiang Xiaoyong did not expect that the mainland side welcomed him and carefully arranged the reception process.
Not only that, taking into account Jiang Xiaoyong's physical condition, the mainland side also arranged for him to be an old Chinese medicine doctor with rich experience and prescribed him Chinese medicine. Jiang Xiaoyong's itinerary is like this, the party first arrived in Hong Kong, then flew from Hong Kong to Beijing, received traditional Chinese medicine treatment in Beijing, of course, all this was done in secret.
After a course of treatment in Beijing, Jiang Xiaoyong's physical strength recovered, and he immediately went with his family to Fenghua Xikou Town, Zhejiang Province.
