On December 18, the first Junior CBA National Challenge was held in Jinan. There are 6 races in this year's challenge, and the 6 winning teams will compete in Shanghai for the championship of the finals.
This is a game jointly founded by the CBA (China Men's Basketball Professional League) League and Chinese Shou, the official main sponsor of the CBA League, to popularize and promote youth basketball and expand the youth-based basketball population. As an extension of the CBA League brand, the Junior CBA Chinese Life National Challenge focuses on teenagers as the target group and strives to create a youth basketball training and event platform system.
At the opening ceremony, CBA League CEO Zhang Xiong said in his speech that today's challenge is just the beginning, and the CBA League will work with all partners to provide a platform for the majority of young people to understand basketball and participate in basketball, and find and cultivate more new forces for Chinese basketball.
The first National Challenge was held in Jinan, Changsha, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Shenzhen and Shanghai, with 8 teams in each station divided into two groups for a single round robin group stage, and the first team in the group competed for the championship of the sub-station. The six teams will compete on a single-elimination basis for the overall title of the inaugural National Challenge.
The young players of the first National Challenge were all born between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2008 (inclusive), and the participating teams were high-level traditional teams recommended by the city sports bureau, education bureau, basketball association, and CBA club.
