As a representative poet of the "third generation" of domestic poetry in the 1980s, Shang Zhongmin, who settled in Chengdu, participated in the activities of this Poetry Week as the "host" poet. Shang Zhongmin said in an interview with Cover News that he wrote a poem for Du Fu and would share it with everyone at the recitation meeting in Caotang.

Shang Zhongmin said: "The theme of this conference is Li Bai and Du Fu, and the domestic and foreign guests attending the meeting can have better research on Li Bai and Du Fu and put forward some new insights. As a native of Chengdu, I, as the host, would like to hear the insights of these guests. Li Bai and Du Fu were the greatest poets of the Tang Dynasty, the greatest poets of the entire ancient China, and arguably the greatest poets in the world at that time, and they all intersected with Sichuan. In particular, Du Fu and Chengdu have intersected, and I think they are the honor and pride of our Sichuan, and deserve the eternal learning and admiration of our descendants. ”

In Shang Zhongmin's view, the theme of this poetry week is very in line with the current trend of poetry research: "The poetry circles in many countries in the world are studying Du Fu and Li Bai, and poetry has not only influenced Chinese poetry, but also world poetry. ”

As the "host", Shang Zhongmin will also recite his own poems at the recitation meeting: "I will recite a poem that I wrote myself at the recitation meeting of Du Fu Caotang, and the name is "Du Fu". This is my own work, because I live near Du Fu's Caotang and often go there for a walk, while walking in memory of Du Fu. Under such circumstances, I felt that I should write a poem to Du Fu, and I had this "Du Fu". ”
