This passage comes from a 45-year-old party member, who has served the people of the community for half a lifetime, without seeking fame and fortune, regardless of return, with her enthusiasm and many years of experience in serving community residents, she has become the leader of community cultural and sports activities, she is the volunteer Wang Xiuying who conveys warmth in her voice.
Since retiring in 1999, Wang Xiuying has actively participated in various activities organized by the community, and also led the Liu Yi community publicity team to participate in public welfare performances outside. In 2010, by chance, Wang Xiuying's community organized volunteers to carry out activities to comfort the elderly apartment, and the elderly people took Wang Xiuying's hand and said: "Big sister, we old people have not been so happy for a long time." The children were out of town, coming back once a year, and there was not even a speaker. Hearing this, Wang Xiuying couldn't help but shed tears, and it also strengthened her determination and confidence in volunteering. In this way, Wang Xiuying led her literary and artistic team to devote herself to the public welfare undertaking of volunteering for the elderly.
From 2010 to now, Wang Xiuying will go to the ninth-level village elderly apartment every Monday and Thursday, to the municipal social welfare institute on Tuesday, to the Shicun elderly apartment on Wednesday and Friday, running between several elderly apartments every day, rain or shine, performing programs for the elderly, teaching the elderly to sing, chatting with the elderly, reading news, and bringing happiness to the elderly.
"I hope that more and more young people can join in volunteer service, do good deeds and do good deeds as much as they can, and send warmth to people in need," Wang Xiuying said.
