According to historical records, Sima Qian was the first Zhongshu Order in Chinese history. Zhongshu Ling was a new position created by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty in his later years, generally held by eunuchs, who were specifically responsible for assisting the emperor in managing and handling official documents, had the right to present secret affairs to the emperor, and were in charge of writing and promulgating edicts, which was a very powerful position (Zhongshu Ling was a microphone between the emperor and the outside world, and was the emperor's private secretary and official spokesman, who could stick with the emperor every day, and it was difficult to get rich without being promoted). In the early years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, out of the emperor's jealousy of Zhongshu Ling, he abolished the post of Zhongshu Ling. During the Three Kingdoms period, the Zhongshu Order was re-established, which was held by the emperor's close ministers or eunuchs, with a status equivalent to the emperor's private secretary.
During the Sui Dynasty, Zhongshu Ling was officially included in the list of prime ministers, and was specially appointed by the emperor's close ministers to assist the emperor in handling military affairs. However, the official character of the Sui Dynasty Zhongshu Ling was only Zheng Sanpin, which was a position with great power and low grade. In the middle of the Tang Dynasty, Zhongshu ordered the official products to be adjusted to zhengerpin. During the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhongshu Ling was promoted to Zhengyipin , but it was a fictitious position , and it was only given to the prince and the elderly and meritorious prime minister. The position of Zhongshu Ling really shined was in the Yuan Dynasty, Zhongshu Ling was not only a veritable prime minister, but also a prime minister, and the actual power was second only to the emperor, and when the emperor was not in power, Zhongshu Ling could act as the emperor. In view of the high authority of the Zhongshu Order of the Yuan Dynasty and the chaos of the Imperial Program, after the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, although the Ming Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang did not abolish the post of Zhongshu Ling, he deliberately downplayed the authority of the Zhongshu Ling, so that although the Zhongshu Ling had the name of the prime minister, it did not have the fact of the prime minister. After hu Weiyong was killed by the last Zhongshu Ling, Zhongshu Ling was officially deposed and withdrew from the stage of history.
Judging from the authority and official rank of Zhongshu Ling, he was an important minister of the imperial court from the day of his establishment. Sima Qian did what he said he said, and repeatedly went to the post of Zhongshu Ling. At first, Emperor Wu of Han tried his best to retain him and did not approve his resignation. Later, he was annoyed by Sima Qian's entanglement, so he pushed the boat along the water and let Tai Shigong go home to retire. But in fact, Emperor Wu of Han appointed Sima Qian as Zhongshu Ling, and he really did not mean to insult him. After Sima Qian abandoned his post, he was succeeded by Zhang Anshi, the son of Zhang Tang, a cool official. Zhang Anshi assisted Liu Fuling, the Emperor of Han Zhao, for thirteen years, and was a clean and honest official, and worshiped Fu Pinghou.
