From a high altitude, the main building of the high-energy synchrotron radiation light source project is shaped like a magnifying glass, and right next to the "magnifying glass", two supporting buildings in a ring shape and the main building of the light source project complement each other, which together constitute the theme scheme of "microscopic world". Today, with the structure of the supporting buildings topped out, the light source project has begun to take shape from the sky.

As one of the second batch of cross-research platform projects jointly built by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beijing Municipality, the light source supporting building project is mainly a comprehensive experimental building and user service building for the construction, operation and construction of high-energy synchrotron radiation light source projects and their user personnel. The total construction area of the project is about 28,000 square meters, and the ground is composed of 3 floors of supporting public buildings (user service buildings) and 3 floors of scientific research office buildings (comprehensive experimental buildings), with no underground construction area. The project officially started in April 2021 and took 208 days to complete the main structure capping.

It is reported that the high-energy synchrotron radiation light source project is one of the five large scientific devices settled in Huairou Science City during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period. The device is a "big tool" built to be able to create small light spots with higher energy and greater brightness, helping humans to observe the details of microscopic matter in greater detail. It belongs to the fourth generation of synchrotron radiation light source device, and is China's first high-energy synchrotron radiation light source, undertaken by the Institute of High Energy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with a total construction area of about 125,000 square meters, mainly including accelerators, beam lines and experimental stations.

Since the beginning of this year, the construction of high-energy synchrotron radiation light source projects has been continuously promoted. In May, the advanced light source technology research and development and test platform across the street from the light source project took the lead in entering the state of scientific research. The platform can be described as the "deputy" of the light source project, and some important scientific instruments installed in the light source project need to be developed and tested on this platform, and can be settled in the light source project after passing the relevant tests.

In September this year, the first scientific research equipment electronic gun of the high-energy synchrotron radiation light source was installed; the mass production of the diode magnet of the high-energy synchrotron radiation light source was completed ahead of schedule, and the factory indicators of 130 magnets met the requirements of mechanical processing size and accuracy. The first electronic gun equipment installed is located at the end of the light source linear accelerator, which is the source of accelerated electron generation, using national technology, independent design, and domestic processing.

It is reported that the high-energy synchrotron radiation light source project is expected to complete civil construction in the first half of next year, at the same time, the procurement of scientific research equipment is also in progress, as of November this year, 36% of the total progress of scientific research equipment procurement has been completed.

Represented by the high-energy synchrotron radiation light source project, a large number of scientific facilities clusters are accelerating the landing in Huairou Science City. At present, the experimental device for comprehensive extreme conditions and the numerical simulation device of the Earth system have been completed and put into operation, the high-energy synchrotron radiation light source and the second phase of the Meridian Project have been fully installed in scientific research equipment, the multi-modal cross-scale biomedical imaging facilities and 11 scientific and educational infrastructure civil works have been basically completed, the 5 first cross-research platforms have all been put into trial operation, and the main structure of the 8 second batch of cross-research platforms has been capped; the physiological and pathological simulation devices of human organs laid out during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. The efficient transformation and utilization of solar energy and scientific and technological infrastructure and scientific and educational facilities have accelerated the landing。
