Emperor Wen of Han was the number one frugal monarch in the history of our country, during his 23 years of reign, the things of the carriage and riding clothes were not added, and what he usually wore on his body was made of some rough black silk, which was not higher than ordinary people!
In addition, because he pitied the fatigue of the soldiers' long-distance transportation, he ordered the marquis to stay in his fiefdom honestly and not have to come to Chang'an to invite him. He then ordered the abolition of corporal punishment through the act of saving his father.
It was such a benevolent and frugal monarch who, before his death, issued a testament stipulating that his mausoleum would not be sealed.
The "Chronicle of History" records: "(Baling) does not cure the grave, wants to be a province, and does not bother the people... Baling Mountains and Rivers have not changed because of this! ”
That is to say, Emperor Wen of Han's tomb did not have a tall sealing soil, which means that people in later generations cannot rely on sealing soil to identify it at a glance like other tombs in the Han Dynasty.
