The Tang Dynasty stone scriptures in Foguang Temple

Among the old photos of Foguang Temple, there is a photo of a young Lin Huiyin climbing up the stone scripture building and concentrating on observation. The sutra in the photo stands in front of the Manjushri Temple, on the central axis of the temple. It was built in the fourth year of Tang Qianfu (877), with a height of 4.9 meters, and is engraved with the "Buddha's Peak Victory Sutra", which is a common content on the Tang Dynasty scriptures.
Qianfu Four-Year Scripture
On the platform outside the East Hall, there is another Tang Dynasty stone scripture building, which is 3.24 meters high, with a corset hexagonal base, carved with a lion and beast pot door and a lotus petal on the back, and the body is engraved with the "Dravidian Mantra".
Qianfu four years through the building partial
Compared with the previous one, this stone scripture building has a more beautiful silhouette and more exquisite carving, and it has also become the key to discovering the age of the construction of the East Hall.
Eleven years of the Great Middle School
At that time, Lin Huiyin found a vague inscription of "Female Disciple Ning Gongyu" on the beam of the East Hall, and he did not know what to do. At the end of this sutra, the name of "Female Disciple Buddha Hall Lord Ning Gongyu" is also engraved, and a record of the eleventh year (857) of the Tang Dynasty is left. The stone scripture building and the inscription of the ink book in the East Hall corroborate each other, from which the exact date of construction of the East Hall can be determined.
