Huang Yanpei's former residence is located at No. 218, Xinchuan Road, Chuansha New Town, and was originally huang Yanpei's uncle, Shen Shuyong, who was built in the Daoguang years in the ninth year of Qing Xianfeng (1859) - Neishidi. In addition to the quaint architecture, Neishidi is more famous for its legendary cultural residence, where many celebrities were born and lived. Famous musician Huang Zi, democracy fighter Huang Jingwu, water conservancy expert Huang Wanli and other huang children were born here.
In 1890, the first three rooms in the west wing of the street were welcomed by an extraordinary tenant, the pastor Song Yaoru and his wife, who gave birth to Song Qingling, Song Ziwen and Song Meiling, and the Song sisters and brothers spent a beautiful childhood here. Chuansha Huwan and the Shaodong family, who were less than 100 days old in The Tea Village, also lived with their mother Feng Shi for the first year of Neishi and lived in the east wing opposite the Song family. And this young owner is Hu Shi, who later became China's "new cultural standard-bearer".
Huang Yanpei, a famous Chinese educator, once lived in a two-story brick and wood courtyard facing north and south in the third entrance of NeishiDi. In June 1992, Huang Yanpei's former residence was rated as a cultural relics protection unit in Shanghai.
