People's Daily Beijing, December 15 (Reporter Sun Hongli) According to the official website of the State Food and Drug Administration, the State Food and Drug Administration recently issued the "Notice on the Detection of Prohibited Raw Materials for 2 Batches of Cosmetics" (No. 100 of 2021), showing that the banned raw material lead specified in the "Cosmetic Safety Technical Specifications (2015 Edition)" was detected, and the product was unqualified.

According to the notice, after inspection by Fujian Food and Drug Quality Inspection institute and other units, the lead content of the White Beauty Honeysuckle Powder (batch number: 2006021) produced by the manufacturer Shanghai Qianjiao Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and the manufacturer Zhongyun (Shanghai) Cosmetics Co., Ltd. is 11.9mg/kg, and the lead content of the white beauty honeysuckle powder (batch number: 2006021) produced by Guangzhou Minglu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is 34mg/kg.

The State Food and Drug Administration requires the drug supervision and administration departments of Shanghai Municipality and Guangdong Province to file a case against the above-mentioned enterprises in accordance with the law, seriously investigate and deal with them, and promptly report the relevant investigation and handling to the State Food and Drug Administration; the drug supervision and management departments of each province (autonomous region and municipality) order the relevant cosmetics operators to immediately stop operating the above two batches of cosmetics, investigate their purchase inspection records in accordance with the law, and trace the source of the illegal products; if illegal acts are discovered, they are seriously investigated and punished according to law; and if they are suspected of committing crimes, they are transferred to the public security organs according to law.

It is understood that lead can be absorbed through the skin, and long-term use will cause lead poisoning, which is harmful to major systems such as the body's neuro-cardiovascular bones. The skin of infants and young children is thinner and more delicate than that of adults, and excessive lead absorption can damage multiple systems of the body, such as affecting children's intellectual development.

According to the "Cosmetic Safety Technical Specifications (2015 Edition)", the lead content in cosmetics should be ≤ 10mg/kg. In addition, according to the "Provisions on the Supervision and Administration of Children's Cosmetics", children's cosmetics formulas should use cosmetic raw materials with a long history of safe use; it is not allowed to use raw materials for the purpose of freckle whitening, acne removal, hair removal, deodorization, dandruff removal, anti-hair loss, hair coloring, perming and so on.
