Recently, the Honda Research Institute has developed a road condition detection system that not only prompts drivers to drive safely, but also provides information sharing for road maintenance departments.

To improve road safety Honda developed a test road condition detection system

It is reported that the system uses GPS and camera sensors to collect real-time road information, and Honda and Acura's autonomous driving assistance system will participate in relevant tests. When the vehicle is driving, the lane line will be evaluated and judged according to the actual situation, and the driver will be prompted to drive safely according to the four levels of green, yellow, gray and red. At the same time, this information will also be transmitted to the relevant road departments to facilitate the planning and implementation of maintenance operations.

Honda hopes to improve road and driving safety through this technology, provide traffic participants with richer road information, and detect road conditions in an efficient and economical way, thus realizing Honda's "Safety for Everyone" concept. At present, the test project is working on the OHIO state of the United States.
