Zhang Wenqiu was born on December 1, 1903 in Qingshuling Village, Sunqiao Town, Jingshan County, Hubei Province, to a wealthy family.

At the age of 14, Zhang Wenqiu was admitted to the Provincial Women's Normal College, where Dong Biwu and Chen Tanqiu were teachers.

Inspired and educated by Chen Tanqiu and Dong Biwu, Zhang Wenqiu began to devote himself to the revolution and participated in the "May Fourth" Movement led by Yun Daiying, Li Qiushi, Lin Yunan, and others in the Wuhan area.

In 1924, Zhang Wenqiu joined the regiment. In 1926, she joined the Party.

After that, Zhang Wenqiu returned to Jingshan County to carry out the peasant movement and established a peasant association and a women's association.

Liu Qianchu, born in 1897, is a native of Pingdu County, Shandong Province. In his early years, he joined the Chinese Revolutionary Army.

In 1922, Liu Qian was first admitted to Yenching University and was exposed to progressive ideas. During the Northern Expedition, Liu Qianchu did propaganda work in the Propaganda Section of the Political Department of the Eleventh Army of the National Revolutionary Army.

At the end of 1926, Liu Qianchu and Zhang Wenqiu became acquainted and fell in love.

On April 26, 1927, Zhang Wenqiu and Liu Qianchu were married in Wuhan.

On the third day after the marriage, Liu Qianchu went to the front line with the army. Zhang Wenqiu returned to Jingshan. The two were separated for three years.

At the beginning of 1929, Liu Qianchu, who was working in Shandong (as the provincial leader), asked his wife Zhang Wenqiu to work in Shandong.

Shortly after Zhang Wenqiu and her husband were reunited, secret agents sent by the warlord Han Fuyu recognized the two, and Zhang Wenqiu and Liu Qianchu were arrested and imprisoned one after another.

In prison, in the face of the enemy's severe torture, Zhang Wenqiu and Liu Qianchu always kept secrets and were unyielding. Liu Qianchu also wrote a poem to encourage his wife: there is no need to be bitter and sad when there is nothing to do, and the truth should be explored in detail. Only weapons in hand can turn fine water into torrents!

Later, under our rescue, Zhang Wenqiu was released from prison as a "pregnant suspect". Before leaving the prison, she asked to meet with her husband.

After the two met, Zhang Wenqiu burst into tears, and she asked her husband to give a name to the child who was about to be born. Liu Qianchu encouraged her, saying, "Don't cry. You must get out alive! In the face of the enemy, we can only shed blood, not tears! ”

Not long after Zhang Wenqiu was released from prison, her daughter was born and her name has been Si Qi ever since.

On April 5, 1931, the warlord Han Fuyu ordered the killing of Liu Qianchu, Deng Enming, and others.

Liu Qianchu was only 34 years old when he died.

After that, Zhang Wenqiu turned grief into strength, and she went through hardships and continued to engage in revolutionary work with her daughter Siqi.

After the Xi'an Incident, Zhang Wenqiu took his daughter to Yan'an to work. After arriving at the Xi'an office, Lin Boqu sent Chen Zhenya to escort their mother and daughter to Yan'an.

Chen Zhenya was born into a poor peasant family in Longgang Village, Shangxi Township, Shimen County. He joined the revolution in his early years and was good friends with Huang Gongluo. On July 22, 1928, under the leadership of Mr. Peng, Teng Daiyuan, Huang Gongluo, and others, Chen Zhenya participated in the Pingjiang Uprising. After that, he followed Mr. Peng to Jinggangshan.

Chen Zhenya fought bravely, bravely and strategically, and was a general under Mr. Peng. In a battle, Chen Zhenya was seriously injured in his left leg and could only amputate his leg.

After Zhang Wenqiu and Chen Zhenya met, after half a year of contact, in the winter of 1937, the two got married.

In October 1938, Zhang Wenqiu gave birth to a daughter "An An", also known as An Yun, named Shaohua, and later changed her name to Shaohua.

In the spring of 1939, the Central Military Commission decided to let Chen Zhenya and Zhang Wenqiu take Siqi and Shaohua to the Soviet Union to treat their wounds.

Unexpectedly, when the plane passed through Dihua (Urumqi), the reactionary warlord Sheng Shi detained Chen Zhenya, Zhang Wenqiu and others.

On June 13, 1941, the White Russian doctor sent by Sheng Shicai injected Chen Zhenya with poison in the name of curing the disease.

Six months after Chen Zhenya's death, Zhang Wenqiu gave birth to his third daughter, Shaolin, in prison.

In the spring of 1946, with the help of Zhang Zhizhong, Zhang Wenqiu walked out of prison with his daughter Siqi, Shaolin, and more than 130 revolutionaries. Zhang Zhizhong sent armed forces to escort them to Yan'an.
