Learn the red spirit and walk into the former residence of Chen Tanqiu

Chen Tanqiu, Ming Cheng, Zi Yunxian, No. Tan Qiu, Chen Celou, Huanggang County, Hubei Province, founder and early leader of the Communist Party of China, proletarian revolutionary. In 1920, together with Dong Biwu, Liu Bochui and 7 other people, he founded the Wuhan Communist Group. In July 1921, he and Dong Biwu participated in the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China and established the Communist Party of China. On September 27, 1943, he was secretly murdered with Mao Zemin, Lin Jilu and others in Dihua (present-day Urumqi). Chen Tanqiu's "Memories of the First Congress of the Communist Party of China" published by Chen Tanqiu is recognized by historians as the earliest recall and published important document on a major internal situation of the CPC.

Today I have the privilege of walking into the former residence of Chen Tanqiu, which is located in a village on the west bank of the Bashui River in the southern foothills of the Huanggang Beacon Volcano in Hubei Province. In this ordinary village, Chen Tanqiu spent his childhood and adolescence and began his very unusual life.

In the archway at the mouth of the village, the bronze statue of martyr Chen Tanqiu stands in a verdant pine, and his affectionate gaze points to the place where it was the former residence of that year. The former residence was built in the Qing Dynasty and burned down by the Kuomintang reactionaries in 1928, leaving only stone carved doorposts and patios. In 1980, the then Huanggang County People's Government made a partial restoration, and the former president Li Xiannian inscribed the name of the museum.

The brick and tile house with one entry and two folds is "Chen Ce Lou", which has the same name as the current local township. Historically, this place was originally the ancestral ancestral hall of the Chen family, and later became a place where Chen Tanqiu, Dong Biwu and others secretly engaged in revolutionary activities. In 1993, "Chen Ce Lou" was listed as a key cultural relics protection unit in Hubei Province. Here, the first party group in eastern Hubei was born, and the Huanggang Provisional County Committee and the first peasant association were established. It can be said that this is the birthplace of the Huanggang Revolution!

On January 4, 1896, Chen Tanqiu was born in this formerly scholarly mansion. In 1912, at the age of 15, Chen Tanqiu left his hometown and embarked on the road to study. After the May Fourth Movement, he became acquainted with Dong Biwu and resolutely threw himself into the torrent of revolution under the guidance of Dong Biwu. In 1921, Chen Tanqiu and Dong Biwu attended the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and then led the Hubei female teachers' student wave and the "February Seventh" strike that shocked the whole country. During this time, he met Xu Quanzhi, and the two went from acquaintance to love, and finally became revolutionary partners. In the winter of 1933, Xu Quanzhi was pregnant and about to give birth, and at this time Chen Tanqiu was in danger and was ordered to work in the Central Soviet Region. The couple made a painful decision to send their two existing children to their grandmother's house. The third child born was sent back to Chen Celou and entrusted to the relatives at home. In a letter from a childcare child, Chen Tanqiu said in a pertinent manner: "I have always been a person who has tracked and wandered and is uncertain. "Yes, in the bloody revolutionary career, he was on a mission, displaced, and suffered hardships, and he could not care about his children, let alone himself. On September 22, 1943, Chen Tanqiu was secretly killed by Sheng Shicai in Xinjiang at the age of 47.

The villagers in the hometown have passed on such a song by word of mouth: "You are a great man, who once opened up the world; you are a villager, and you cannot get out of the memory." "The years pass, and the wind and frost pass through the years." The name Chen Tanqiu was written in the journey of the Chinese revolution, in the history of the Communist Party of China, and even more in the hearts of the people in his hometown.
