The announcement said that the Weibo station side sincerely accepts the criticism of the competent department, conscientiously implements the rectification requirements, resolutely fulfills the main responsibility, and continuously improves the level of ecological governance. In accordance with the requirements of the competent departments, a rectification and implementation working group is established. From the following two aspects: First, promote the special governance of soft pornography rectification. From the two-pronged governance of manual strategy and machine strategy, effectively identify and intercept soft pornographic information, and seriously deal with illegal accounts. The second is to promote the special governance of homogeneous malicious marketing. The Beijing Municipal Internet Information Office imposed an administrative penalty of a total fine of 3 million yuan on Beijing Weimeng Chuangke Network Technology Co., Ltd., the operator of Sina Weibo. From January to November 2021, the State Internet Information Office guided the Beijing Municipal Internet Information Office to impose 44 disposal penalties on Sina Weibo, and repeatedly imposed a fine of 500,000 yuan, with a total of 14.3 million yuan in fines.

Previously, on December 8, Weibo was listed on the Hong Kong stock market at an issue price of HK$272.8 per share, closing down 7.18% at HK$253.2 on the first day of listing.

According to Weibo's latest financial report data for the third quarter of 2021, Weibo's revenue in the third quarter reached $607 million, an increase of 30% year-on-year (compared with the same period last year). In September 2021, the number of monthly active users of Weibo reached 573 million, with 94% from mobile terminals, and the number of daily active users reached 248 million.
