Despite mixed reviews of the film, the sequel Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has been confirmed to be released next year, and the official trailer has finally been released.

The trailer shows the return of Jim Carey, who plays the villain, and brings knuckles, another classic supporting character from Sonic the Hedgehog game. The film is expected to be released in the United States on April 8, 2022, and in Hong Kong on April 14.
