BEIJING, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- A U.S. poll found that nearly 70 percent of Americans disagree with President Joseph Biden's performance in dealing with inflation.

The poll results released by the News Department of the American Broadcasting Corporation and the Ipsos Group on the 12th showed that 69% of the people were dissatisfied with Biden's way of curbing inflation, and only 28% agreed. Specifically, 94 percent of Republicans, 54 percent of Democrats, and 71 percent of independent voters chose "no."

Polls also show that 57 percent of the population is dissatisfied with Biden's performance in reviving the economy.

U.S. inflation continues to rise. Data released by the Department of Labor on the 10th showed that the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.8% month-on-month and 6.8% year-on-year in November, the largest year-on-year increase since June 1982.

Biden said last week that the U.S. inflation crisis is currently at its "peak" and that inflation will fall once the Senate passes a bill related to democrats' "Rebuild a Better Future" plan.

Polls also show that Biden's approval ratings for tackling crime and gun violence have similarly declined, with 36 percent and 32 percent of the public acknowledging his performance, respectively.

The poll was conducted from 10 to 11, with 524 adults as the survey subjects, and the margin of error was plus or minus 5 percentage points. (Chen Dan)
