So, for students who like games, how much will the 3D performance of notebooks change next year?
Entry Level: Surprises abound
First, let's take a look at the entry-level, that is, the core display integrated with the mobile processor, and the performance of the new generation of entry-level unique display.
Intel's 12th Generation Core integrated core display is still the Iris Xe, up to 96 groups of execution units, even with LPDDR5 memory, its performance will not change much, that is, NVIDIA's early GeForce MX350 level.
By the way, Intel will launch the DG2 Arc gaming graphics card next year, code-named Alchemy, of which the entry-level model has 96 to 128 execution units, which will improve performance compared to the Sharp Torch Xe, and it is estimated that it can reach the level of the existing GeForce MX450.

AMD Ryzen™ 6000 performs well, its integrated nuclear display from the 10,000-year-old Vega to RDNA2 (navi2), from the online exposure of the running score data, its performance is comparable to GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, has the 2019 mid-range game book 3D performance, 1080P+ high-quality can eat chicken smoothly.
AMD may launch the RX 6500M/6300M unique display next year, and the 6500M series is expected to be equipped with a full version of the Navi 24 GPU, enabling 1024 stream processors, and benchmarking the RTX 3050. The 6300M series is expected to be powered by a 768-stream processor, the benchmark MX450. Among them, the full-blood nuclear performance of the RX 6300M and AMD Ryzen™ 6000 integrated may overlap, so you can ignore it.
NVIDIA will release the new GeForce MX550 unique display in January, it still uses turing architecture, but the number of stream processors has increased from 896 of the MX450 to 2048, has been equal to the RTX 3050, even if the bit width is still cut to 64bit, then its performance will far exceed the MX450, continue to maintain the performance suppression of the AMD Ryzen 6000 integrated core display.
Mid-range: No wave in the ancient well
2022 5,000 yuan ~ 8,000 yuan game market is not much to see, although they are equipped with the 12th generation Core and Ryzen™ 6000 performance is not bad, but with them is still our familiar RTX 3050/Ti, RTX 3060 and RTX 3070, game performance will not improve much.
Intel DG2 Arc gaming graphics will launch 256 ~ 512 execution units in this segment, the performance of the top version is expected to reach the level of RTX 3070, but whether the OEM manufacturers buy it, whether the market recognizes it is difficult to say.
According to the latest news, AMD may launch the Refresh model of the RDNA2 architecture mobile GPU with the Ryzen 6000 , the Radeon RX 6000S. The process of the new product has been upgraded from TSMC N7 to N6, providing a higher frequency and energy efficiency ratio for the new GPU, but it is not realistic to expect a qualitative change in performance.
High-end level: toys for the rich
Next year's top graphics cards will be updated, and NVIDIA will release the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti to further boost the power of the game. However, the machines that can be matched with such graphics cards are high-end goods of more than 10,000 yuan, and students with limited budgets are good to see.
Overall, 2022 is a very good year for thin and light books, with significant improvements in CPU and entry-level unique performance, which can release more productivity between inches. But for the game book, the CPU is prosthetic and the GPU is flat, at least for the students who have just started the game book, it is not so uncomfortable.
