At 10 o'clock this morning, the State Administration of Cultural Relics held a ceremony to donate cultural relics. Ms. Suzanne from California, USA, donated two Ming Dynasty pottery figurines to the Shanghai Museum.

In April, the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco received a courier from Ms. Suzanne, containing two colorful statues and a letter describing her family's relationship with the two terracotta figurines, and made it clear that she wanted to donate cultural relics to the Shanghai Museum through the Chinese government and return them to the Chinese. The State Administration of Cultural Heritage immediately organized and carried out relevant work such as picture identification. After extensive investigation and analysis, it was preliminarily judged that the two clay figurines were indeed Chinese cultural relics, similar to a set of Ming Dynasty glazed pottery figurines collected by the Shanghai Museum, and immediately requested the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics. The Shanghai Museum has studied and judged the figurines themselves and their next placement.

In August, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage approved the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Cultural Heritage, designated the Shanghai Museum as the recipient of the two terracotta figurines, and did a good job in returning, transporting and handing over the cultural relics. Over the next three months, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage repeatedly communicated and coordinated with the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco, Ms. Suzanne, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Cultural Heritage, and the Shanghai Museum. Especially with the strong support of the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco, the return of cultural relics was finally completed on November 26, and the pottery figurines officially returned to the motherland.
