Zeng Xi Lishu Vertical Scroll Sprinkled with gold notes

Zeng Xi (1861-1930) was a zi jizi, also known as Si Yuan, and a more zi jie, and a garden, and in his later years he called himself a farmer. A native of Hengzhou Prefecture (present-day Hengyang City), Hengyong Province, Hunan. Guangxu twenty-ninth year (1903) jinshi. He is an outstanding calligrapher, painter and educator in China, and a leading figure in Haipai calligraphy and painting. The chief of the Officers and Men Department, the envoy of the Study, and the adviser of the Bide Academy successively lectured at the Hengyang Shigu Academy and the Hanshou Longchi Academy, and served as the president of Hunan Education. Calligraphy obtained the Xia Chengbei and Zhang Heinu stele, and began to paint after 60 years, working on landscapes and turquoise stones. With Li Ruiqing's Northern Emperor Jiejie, there is a saying of "Northern Li Nan zeng".
