This is the poet's free life after he resigned from the government, and a couplet is also engraved on the doorpost of Rong Knee Residence: "Tinglai Bamboo Friends have a broad heart, and the door has a wide vision for Matsuoka", which is similar to the artistic conception of "Return to Xi Ci".

Absurd, the moon is the wind moon, the poetry and song are the wind moon, the leisure thing is the wind moon, the beautiful scenery of the good night is the wind moon, the Chinese characters created by the ancestors are broad and profound, the wisdom is unfathomable, if you are obsessed, it is the benevolent person who sees the benevolent, and the wise person sees the wisdom.

The workshop building is diagonally opposite Rong Knee Residence, is another famous building in Peitian, the purpose of this residence was to provide accommodation for the craftsmen who built the "Jishu Hall (Dafu Di)", the Jishu Hall was built in the tenth year of the Qing Dynasty (1884), and the workshop gate building should have been built slightly earlier than the Jishu Hall, rather than the "built in 1829" introduced on the door plaque.
It can be understood that this workshop building is the courtyard built by the former construction craftsmen themselves, which is specially used to prove their superb architectural skills to undertake more business "model houses".
Today, more than 130 years have passed, and the workshop building has also declined. Originally a workshop for craftsmen who built the "Jishu Hall", it was later built into a residential house. "Engineer Room Building" is a place that embodies the advanced concept of Peitian culture. Inside the gatehouse is a "craftsman's room", where the carpenters who built the "Doctor's House" lived at that time. Although the craftsmen live very exquisitely, the so-called "three-point hall and seven-point gatehouse", how the craftsman's technology depends on where they live, the craftsmen integrate the architectural technology and art of the gatehouse, and also combine the geographical feng shui.
In such a living environment, the accommodation conditions between the craftsmen and the owners are no different. At that time, the status of craftsmen was much higher than that of today's construction workers.
