The shuyuan community is an important part of peitian ancient residential architecture. The famous Nanshan Academy from the seventh year of Shunzhi to the thirty years of Qianlong, a total of 191 talents, the Ming Dynasty military department Shangshu Pei Yingzhang after the inspection of Peitian deeply felt very deeply, with a stroke of the pen wrote "although a hundred miles away from Tingcheng Guo, into the hole gate wall is the first" synonym. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, Peitian Village had developed into an educational situation represented by the "Nanshan Academy" and the Wuyou "Ban Ruotang".
Nanshan Academy has a history of more than 500 years, was founded in the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty, the founder is Wu Zukuan, formerly known as the Stone Hill Caotang. Peitian has had the custom of respecting teachers and re-teaching since ancient times, and Xie Taoxi, a retired prefect of Zhejiang and a jinshi, Qiu Zhenfang, a famous talent in Fuzhou in the Qing Dynasty, and Zeng Ruichun, a Shujishi of Hanlin Yuan, have taught here. The academy is located at the foot of the mountain, cobblestone steps, stepping on the stone steps, facing a strong smell of books.
At the door, when Pei Yingzhang, a Ming Dynasty rebbe Shangshu, once admired Pei Tian to investigate, he was shocked by the village's "Caolu Chuanzheng Learning, Qili Clear Sound" and gave the couplet "Although it is a hundred miles away from Tingcheng, it is the first to enter the wall of the Hole Gate". The moss at the door adds an ancient atmosphere to Nanshan Academy.
Unfortunately, when we went there, the gate of Nanshan Academy was closed, and we could not experience the scene in person.
Confucius said: "Learning and excellence." The ideal of generations of Peitian people is to be like Wu Bazhen under the premise of cultivating and reading, asceticism in the cold window, entering the cabinet to worship the face, and honoring the ancestors. Therefore, Peitian ancestors revere culture and re-teach, the academy community is famous far and wide, private schools and schools are distributed behind the former village of Peitian Village, and the sound of books is spread in any corner of the village. According to legend, in the history of Peitian for more than 800 years, there are 18 colleges such as "Nanshan Academy", "Shibeishan Academy", "Yunjiang Academy", "Ziyang Academy", "Waiting For Heaven Academy", the most famous of which is the "Nanshan Academy" in the south of the village.
Today's Nanshan Academy is protected as an ancient building, and right next to it is the newly built Peitian Primary School. This is still a place where children learn, read and grow.
The old and new schools, combined into one, complement each other perfectly.
It's the winter break of the school, otherwise, it must be the most vibrant and energetic place in the village.
The plum blossom planted at the entrance of the school is also for that sentence: the sword blade comes out of the grinding, and the plum blossom fragrance comes from the bitter cold.
It is exactly: Nanshan Yucai, Hua Guo as a pillar. "Cultivation and reading as the foundation and Chongwen re-teaching" has always been the concept and ancestral precept that Peitian people abide by. From Qianlong to Guangxu in the past thirty years, there have been more than a hundred people trained here, including Yuan, Bangyan, Hanlin, Jinshi, and Xiucai; during the Years of the Republic of China, some students who came out of here went to Japan to study, and some went to France to work and study. After liberation, there were hundreds of college and secondary school students trained here, including professors, engineers, writers, painters... It reflects the accumulation of Hakka farming and reading culture.
