In order to compete for enrollment indicators, the competition between doctoral supervisors is becoming increasingly fierce, and some schools have to re-queue up doctoral supervisors every year when formulating enrollment plans for the next year to determine enrollment qualifications (secondary confirmation).

Here's the problem.

There are also embarrassing situations, such as indicators but can not recruit qualified students, recruited students quit school halfway, recruited students have problems and can not be withdrawn, many years can not graduate to become the tutor "baggage". These are a waste of resources and energy. Mentors who only want to recruit more and don't want to bring are actually irresponsible.

Doctoral supervisor is a post, not an honor. Failure to do so (poor guidance, academic misconduct, empty reputation) will not only not receive honors, but even ruin their reputation. The same is the doctoral supervisor, in the eyes of teachers and students, the image and reputation are very different.

Doctoral supervisors are not interests, but responsibilities. When you recruit, consider being responsible for your students and develop them into scientific workers with the ability to do research independently, rather than your thesis workers and performance tellers.

It is recommended that the school review the annual review system of doctoral supervisors, and those whose performance does not meet the standards for several years or are close to the retirement age should cancel the qualifications of doctoral supervisors.
