Luo Chen was wearing a black woolen coat and was tall. Because of the needs of epidemic prevention and control, she wears a blue medical mask, but the crooked and smiling eyes behind the lenses are radiant.
"I am very fortunate to have such an opportunity to come to such a large-scale science and technology exhibition," Luo Chen told me, "here, I have the opportunity to see the latest achievements and applications of many high-tech enterprises in the Greater Bay Area and scientific research institutions at home and abroad, which is of great significance to my personal study." ”
Luo Chen, a Jiangsu and Zhejiang girl who studied in Hunan as an undergraduate, came to the University of Macau in September this year to become a first-year student of the Master of Mechanical and Electrical Sciences of the Faculty of Science and Technology. Just four months after she enrolled, THE BEYOND International Tech Innovation Expo opened on December 2 at the Cotai Convention and Exhibition Centre at The Venetian Macao. The three-day exhibition attracted more than 300 institutions and enterprises to participate in the exhibition, focusing on impact technology, life sciences, new infrastructure, smart city and life, future technology and other fields.
I want to make it easier for travelers to Macau
As a graduate student majoring in mechanical and electrical engineering, Luo Chen is not only a "professional visitor" of the exhibition, but also brings her latest research results to the exhibition.
"The AI travel planner designed by our team is mainly based on a deep learning model to provide a personalized travel plan by integrating user liking, traffic and recent events."
When it comes to the design she participated in, Luo Chen is actually not as nervous as she said before the interview. But as a liberal arts student, the technical terms she spoke of still made me a bit cloudy.
"Why don't you just show it?" I made a suggestion.
Then, I saw her pull out the mobile phone prepared on the side and click on the app called "AI Travel Planner", "For example, if we click on 'Day Trip', select our current location, itinerary time, compactness, travel mode, preferences, etc., this app can generate a one-day tour route map for you, which greatly saves your time and energy." ”
"That's amazing!" I lamented that with just a few simple steps, a roadmap could be determined. For a city like Macau, which is committed to building a "world tourism and leisure center", such an app will provide convenience for people who come to Macau to travel.
Macao's 680,000 people drink water, with TA behind them
In addition to providing a platform for local enterprises and research institutions in Macao, many well-known mainland enterprises also participated in this exhibition. For example, Tencent from Shenzhen showed Tencent's continuous output of helping Macao's economic diversification and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area through 15 specific and intuitive scene cases. These cases are closely related to the actual needs of Macao's local enterprises and people's livelihood, some have been successfully landed, and some will be "plug and play" in the future.
One of the things that impressed me the most was Tencent's cooperation with Macau Water Supply Co., Ltd.
With more than 270 employees, 4 water plants and more than 700 kilometers of water supply network, Macao Water Supply is responsible for supplying 680,000 people with water every day. How to strengthen the effective management of employees and assist Macao residents with efficient personnel to ensure the use of water has become a problem that Macao tap water hopes to solve.
In Macau, most of the inquiries about tap water are carried out through the customer hotline, which records the problem and then forwards it to the Pipe Network Division, where engineers are present to deal with it. There are 4 engineers on duty every day, with an average of 4 to 5 sites. Since then, the engineer's feedback has also been carried out over the phone, which has a problem: once the communication process is deviated, it will slow down the process of solving the problem.
Therefore, starting from 2019, on the basis of the original Tencent enterprise WeChat as an internal mobile office application, Macao Tap Water has built a mobile application solution platform EAP (Enterprise Application Platform) on the enterprise WeChat workbench to connect the employees, water plants and water supply pipe networks of Macao Water. In other words, when encountering problems now, the specific time, type of event, follow-up person, follow-up situation, etc. are all clear, the process is more transparent, the collaboration is closer, and the service is naturally more efficient.
"In fact, behind this, there is also our 'smart water' grand strategy, our traditional enterprises want to intelligently upgrade and transform, of which data processing is an important part." Zhao Yu, manager of the Macao Water Supply Innovation Office, told me that in his view, enterprise WeChat not only makes information transmission more accurate and makes customer service quality higher, but more importantly, it can also allow enterprises to understand the situation of different cases, grasp the processing process and other relevant information, on the one hand, "improve efficiency", on the other hand, "quantitative analysis".
Another staff member from Macao Water also introduced that they are currently promoting the pilot plan of "smart water meter". One of the ideas that struck me deeply was that through the program, we could see if there was a sudden change in the amount of water used by users. As a simple example, if an elderly person living alone has not used water for three days, or if the amount of water used changes compared to the daily average, then an "alarm" will be triggered and the system can contact the elderly's relatives to understand the situation.
I think this is also the meaning of the title of "Science and Technology for Good, Wisdom Bay Area".
Some familiar scenarios
In addition to tap water, in fact, Macao has another "water vein" closely linked to the Greater Bay Area, that is, the carrier channel of cross-border consumption - mobile payment.
As a tourist from Shenzhen, one of my feelings in Macau is that the payment scene is very familiar, and the mobile payment tools used in mainland cities can also be used in Macau as usual. For example, the promotion and popularization of WeChat Pay will enable mainland tourists to enjoy more convenient and high-quality smart travel in Macao, and further promote Macao's economic and social development and the interconnection of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
According to the tour guide, WeChat Pay also jointly built the first smart supermarket in Macao with the New Flower City Supermarket, taking the lead in introducing self-service face brush payment, and providing real-time foreign exchange settlement and fast checkout services to mainland tourists. In addition, WeChat Pay has also jointly launched a mini program electronic membership with DFS Duty Free shop and Sands Resorts Macao, so that users can enjoy multiple membership benefits after registering as a member. Since September last year, WeChat Pay has also joined hands with the Macao SAR government to pioneer the "Cross-border Consumption Coupons" model, issuing a total of 290 million patacas of consumption coupons, which can be used by tourists in catering, retail, leisure and entertainment, transportation and hotels.
Some scenes I'm not familiar with
At the exhibition, Tencent also brought cases of "smart medical care" and "smart industry". For example, in the field of smart medicine, as the first product released by Tencent that applies advanced artificial intelligence technologies such as computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, and deep learning to the medical field, it uses AI medical image analysis to assist clinicians in screening diseases. During the covid-19 epidemic, the overall vehicle mobile cabin CT equipped with this technology has realized the automatic transmission of images and diagnostic reports across regions through the 5G+AI intelligent diagnosis system, greatly improving the diagnostic accuracy and efficiency, and avoiding the waste of medical resources and the risk of infection.
In addition, Tencent also uses its own platform and technical advantages to provide powerful digital production tools for enterprises to resume work and production and the convenient life of the general public. For example, Tencent Conference, in the first time to open the 300-person conference capacity for free, and iterated more than 20 versions in three months, which helped the communication and collaboration of government command, enterprise meetings, school classrooms, etc., and also created many scenarios such as online investment signing, cloud trial, online defense and so on.
In the field of smart industries, at the end of 2018, Tencent signed a memorandum of cooperation with CTM macau to connect Tencent's cloud platform technology to Macao. With Tencent's cloud platform technology, CTM Cloud provides a series of new functions and cutting-edge technologies that go beyond traditional services, including data storage to solve the problems of container cluster construction, operation and maintenance management for users, and message queuing services to receive or send information between different applications.
In an interview, CTM's Director of Business Services and Development, Wu Zhende, said that with the integrated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, in fact, it is an opportunity for the development of different cities and different industries in the Greater Bay Area, and he also believes that technology can open up more cooperation space and create more opportunities in different fields.
When it comes to the "Hengqin Plan" that was heavily "officially announced" in September, Wu Zhende is also full of expectations. He believes that in the past, Macao's industry was relatively single, but with the introduction of the plan, including traditional Chinese medicine, tourism, high-tech and other fields are unlimited opportunities. He also hopes that in these areas, CTM can cooperate with more outstanding enterprises in the mainland to better grasp the opportunity period.
