Macau, December 5 (China News Service) -- The "2021 Galaxy Entertainment Macau International Marathon", sponsored by the Sports Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region and the Macau Athletics Association and sponsored by galaxy entertainment group in Macao, was held at the olympic sports stadium in Macau on the 5th, and Chinese athletes Yang Shaohui and Zhang Deshun won the men's and women's full marathon championships respectively.
This year marks the 40th edition of the Macau International Marathon, with a total length of 42.195 kilometers, passing through the World Heritage Site A-Ma Temple, as well as passing the Governor's Bridge and Sai Wan Bridge, where 12,000 athletes can enjoy the morning charm of a small macau town during the intense race.
The marathon and half marathon started at 6:00 a.m. and the mini marathon started at 6:15 a.m., with the Director-General of the Macao Sar. Sport, Poon Wing-kuen, and the President of the Macau Athletics Federation, Mr. Lam Hsien-fu, presiding over the gun-firing ceremony.
On the track, many runners carefully dressed up "dressed" to attend, and the ingenious "suits" attracted attention and added a youthful and energetic atmosphere to the track. After fierce fighting, Chinese runners arranged the top three in the men's marathon full-time group competition, and finally Yang Shaohui overwhelmed everyone, taking the lead in 2 hours 13 minutes and 04 seconds, Gu Rongchao and Li Wei won the second and third places respectively; on the women's side, Zhang Deshun took the lead in crossing the line in 2 hours 29 minutes and 09 seconds to successfully defend the title, chen Liqin and Gu Jinjin won the second and third places respectively.
As for the Macau athletes category, the men's first, second and third places were Chen Kaiyuan, Guo Zhiwei and Tao Yongqiang, while the women's first, second and third places were Wu Yangyang, Yang Mei Na and Lin Shuqiu.
