If there is no space, they rent the long-vacant farmhouses of local farmers; if there is no fund, they use their own scientific research funds and salaries to support. In 2012, Professor Ye Haohao led the school volunteers to establish Henan's first "Science and Technology Courtyard" in Kangcheng Village, Shundian Town, Yuzhou City, Henan Province. However, when they went to carry out agricultural production research with enthusiasm, they were greeted by the villagers' questions: "Are you here to sell seeds and fertilizers?" How can someone come to do technology services for free? ”
How can I get the approval of the villagers? He led the volunteers of the science and technology institute to be active in the fields and rush outside the village. In the village, they go door to door and "sit in the village" for a long time; in the field, they "go to the clinic" every day to provide technical services for farmers; in the field, they guide farmers hand in hand how to fertilize, spray and irrigate; in agricultural leisure, he carries out various technical training for villagers. Nowadays, Henan Yuzhou, Xinxiang, Qixian, Linying and other places have established 6 "science and technology small institutes", and the Henan Provincial Association for Science and Technology has also included "science and technology small institutes" in the key points of science popularization work in 2021. In view of the serious accumulation of water in the plots, the difficulty of drainage, peppers, soybeans, corn and other problems due to long-term soaking of water root necrosis, facing a harvest failure, they guided farmers to change to mung beans, radish or cabbage and other crops with short growth periods in a timely manner. For crops that have been soaked by floods for a short time and whose roots have not yet died, timely spraying of foliar fertilizers and plant growth regulators is proposed.
