The movie | "Wild Horse Mane": the youth of savage growth

"Mustang Mane" was released on Friday, and I went to see it for the first time.

In the evening, I took a special look at the box office list, and "Mustang Mane" ranked fifth with a box office of about 3 million. Not high, not too low, a small-cost literary and artistic film, expectations should not be too high. The current movie, the quality of the box office, does not completely depend on the quality, mainly rely on luck, strange no?

The film was made last year, shortlisted for Cannes, and won an award at the Pingyao Film Festival run by Chief Jia Ke, which dragged on to this year, a little late, if you take advantage of the heat, the box office may be better.

The director is a newcomer, called Wei Shujun, "Wild Horse Mane" is his feature film debut, quite optimistic. His graduation short film "Yanji Boy" was previously shortlisted for Cannes, and this year's new film "Yong'an Town Story Collection" was shortlisted for Cannes, a total of three films in length, three into Cannes, in the film circle, is a very good qualification. It is said that there are two kinds of film festivals in the world, one is the Cannes Film Festival and the other is the other film festival.

Before the release of the movie, I was looking forward to it. For the title of "Wild Horse Mane", I inexplicably have a good feeling, and I feel that there is a wild poetry that overflows from the middle of those four words.

After watching the movie, it is very calm, the desire to boast is not strong, the enthusiasm for scolding is not high, and I feel that there is nothing to say. I don't know if I really understand it, or there is a generation gap, I feel that the story lacks a sense of substitution, and it seems that there is always a layer of diaphragm in the middle.

The opening scene of the film is at the driving school, dozens of cars in the courtyard in circles, turning dizzy. The male protagonist was not careful, the rear-end was rear-ended, the coach was not what it was, the male protagonist was anxious, inexplicably angry, jumped out of the car in a hurry, hysterically kicked down all the sign poles, the coach chased after the back and shouted, do you still want a driver's license?

A strange, grumpy opening. The driver's license has not landed, but the man spent twenty thousand yuan to buy a scrapped off-road jeep, the car dealer fooled him, driving this car, you are an off-road family.

The story is not complicated, the male protagonist is a sophomore who learns to record, called Zuo Kun, has a debauched personality, does not love to learn, or does not skip class, or is not absent-minded. Combing a cool hairstyle, the front half of the head is a plate inch, the back of the long hair shawl, like half of the Qing Dynasty, if you comb the braids, it is a complete Qing Dynasty disciple.

When the car was bought, Zuo Kun pulled a huge fat classmate and scurried around, looking for work to make money. Help a music-obsessed boss, sell homemade CDs, and record music for someone in a crew. The fat man is very stupid, although he learned to record, he didn't understand anything.

The dream of the two is to drive a smoking jeep to Inner Mongolia and run across the prairie. Before he could leave, Zuo Kun's driver's license was revoked because of drunk driving. The fat man carried Zuo Kun on his back and paid for a fake driver's license for him.

Finally had the opportunity to go to Inner Mongolia and follow a crew to shoot a scene. After the killing, the two felt that the place where the filming was made was not the real grassland. He drove a jeep to look for the grassland, and was arrested by the police and Detained by Zuo Kun.

It's such a simple story. By the way, there is also a love that does not hurt or itch. Most of the characters are very conceptual and unclear, like a cloud of smoke.

There is no core plot, the story is scattered, and there are many things that want to be expressed, such as ridiculing the stereotypes and old-fashioned ways of school teaching; mocking the flickering, deception, and so on of the film circle, but they are all dragonflies and water, and they are not thoroughly explained.

Speaking of genre, it's a wild film, rampage, savage growth. Compared with the previous domestic youth films, it is indeed not the same. Those films are childish, the fat powder is too heavy, and the "Wild Horse Mane" is super strong.

It is said that "Mustang Mane" has autobiographical overtones, and part of the plot is taken from the director's life experience, but it is obviously artistic. Looking at the director's photo, a baby face, even a hint of childishness, it is obviously the appearance of an obedient child, far from the virtue of Zuo Kun's hanging child Lang Dang. It may be that it is far away from today's young people, and I always feel that Zuo Kun's social habits are too heavy, and it is not like a sophomore student.

There is some gap with the expected "Wild Horse Mane", and it is worth a ticket to watch; if you don't watch it, you can't talk about regrets.
