Fan is known as a national beauty, but Zhao Yun is not moved, and refuses on the pretext of having the same surname as Zhao Fan. At present, different people have different actions, Zhao Yun is resolutely refusing, and Guan Yu is tirelessly going to Cao Cao to ask For Qin Yilu's wife.
When Liu Bei entered Shu, Zhao Yun was appointed as the Sima of the Camp, and his main duty was to protect his family. At this time, Liu Bei had already married Sun Quan's sister, and Lady Sun was a female Haojie who did not let her eyebrows be raised. Liu Bei wanted to defend Sun Quan outside, and he wanted to defend Lady Sun inside, and if he wanted to leave Jingzhou, he needed a trustworthy and capable person to protect his family, and Zhao Yun was naturally the first choice.
Sure enough, after Sun Quan learned that Liu Bei had entered Shu, he immediately sent a large fleet to pick up Lady Sun and return to Wu, with the real intention of taking Liu Chan away and keeping him as a hostage. The boat that Lady Sun took Liu Chan had already sailed out, and Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei led the fleet to block the river and rescue Liu Chan.
In Zhao Yun, it is the second to save Liu Chan; in Zhang Fei, it is to make up for the merits.
Liu Bei took Yizhou unfavorably and urgently dispatched the main force of Jingzhou to the west to assist. Zhuge Liang, Zhang Fei, and Zhao Yun went up the river and divided their troops to Jiangzhou (江州, in present-day Yuzhong District, Chongqing), and Zhao Yun brought a group of men and horses along the Min River into Shu, pacifying various places along the way, and meeting zhuge Liang at the city of Chengdu.
Unfortunately, there are too few records about the main force of Jingzhou entering Shu, only Zhang Feiyi's interpretation of Yan Yan has a more detailed record, and nothing else, without knowing the details of Zhao Yun's side, it is difficult to judge Zhao Yun's military command ability, and the only thing that can provide a basis for judging is that Zhao Yun arrived in Chengdu on schedule to meet Zhuge Liang and complete the task.
In fact, the overall military command ability of Liu Bei's group was not strong, the main force of Jingzhou could not defeat Chengdu when it came, and Ma Chao, disguised as a western cool pawn, came, but it only caused a panic in the city, or it could not be defeated. If Liu Zhang insisted on not surrendering, it was not certain whether Liu Bei could capture Chengdu.
At this time, there were still 30,000 elite soldiers in Chengdu, and they stored grain for a year, and the most crucial thing was that the military and the people were bent on defending the city. Even if you only stay for one year, there may be changes. Because Liu Bei was facing three major crises, one was the problem of huge logistical supplies; the second was the question of whether sun quan would take advantage of the fact that most of the main force was in Yizhou and Jingzhou was empty; and third, whether he could persist in resisting Zhang Lu's continuous attack on the rear in the north. After occupying Chengdu, Liu Bei was overjoyed and excitedly rewarded the three armies. In addition to giving some of the gold and silver Shu brocade in Liu Zhang's treasury to the generals, some people proposed to give the houses in Chengdu and the mulberry fields outside the city to the generals, which was opposed by Zhao Yun.
Zhao Yun believed that these houses and farmhouses should be returned to the Yizhou people who had encountered war, so that the people could live and resume their businesses in peace, and then set taxes to win the support of the people. Liu Bei followed Zhao Yun's advice.
It is difficult to distinguish whether this matter is true or false, and the unclear places are those whose houses and lands are owners or owners who have died or fled due to war. If it was the former, even if Zhao Yun did not oppose it, the people-oriented Liu Bei would not agree. If it's the latter, it's fine. No record of this matter can be found elsewhere.
There are two main sources of well-known Zhao Yun, one is Changshanpo's rescue of Ah Dou, and the other is Liu Bei's evaluation: The others do not know much.
The evaluation of "Zilong is full of guts" comes from Zhao Yun's excellent performance in the Hanzhong battle between Liu Bei and Cao Cao. This is the only story in the historical materials ("The Biography of Yun Bei") that describes Zhao Yun's performance in the war in more detail.
When Cao Liu confronted Hanzhong, Huang Zhong led his troops to rob Cao Cao's grain and grass, and Zhao Yun's soldiers followed Huang Zhong. Zhao Yun waited in the camp for a reception, and after the agreed time, before Huang Zhong's men and horses had returned, Zhao Yun led dozens of cavalry to set off lightly and reconnoiter.
Just as Cao Cao launched a general attack, Zhao Yun's light cavalry encountered Cao Cao's vanguard. During the entanglement between the two sides, the main force behind the Cao Army arrived, and the situation was very critical.
Zhao Yun made a bold move, abandoning the battle with the vanguard troops, directly attacking the main phalanx of the Cao army, and dispersing the phalanx and retreating while fighting.
The main force of the Cao army was dispersed and closed again, approaching Zhao Yun's camp. Zhao Yunbu injured Zhang Zhu, and Zhao Yun pegasus went out of the camp to rescue him. When Cao Jun chased after the camp, Zhang Yi, then the governor of Jiangyang County, was in Zhao Yun's camp and wanted to close the gate of the village and refuse to defend.
Zhao Yun ordered the door of the village to be opened and the flag was silenced. The Cao army faced a large open gate, no battle flag, no war drums, no soldiers' empty village, worried about ambushes, and took the initiative to retreat. As soon as the Cao army retreated, Zhao Yun immediately ordered the drums of war to be beaten, the battle flag to be erected, and the crossbowmen to shoot with full force. The Cao army was frightened, the formation was chaotic, and they trampled on each other, and many soldiers fell into the Han River and died.
Early the next morning, Liu Bei inspected Zhao Yun's camp, saw Zhao Yun's combat environment yesterday, and should have listened to Zhao Yun's war report, praising: "Zilong is full of guts. "Then throw a feast and drink until dark." The military called Zhao Yun a general of Huwei.
In fact, this matter is also difficult to distinguish between true and false. Liu Bei and Huang Zhong's biographies do not have a record of this incident, Zhao Yun fought earth-shatteringly here for half a day, where did Huang Zhong go? Did you rob the grain and grass? Did you come back to Zhao Yun? I don't know.
Finally, let's talk about why Zhao Yun was abandoned and snubbed by Liu Bei.
Liu Bei claimed to be empress, and due to various factors, decided to take revenge on Guan Yu as a reason to attack Eastern Wu. Only two people who could be found who explicitly opposed the move were Zhao Yun, and the other was a native of Yizhou, Qin Mi (a famous scholar in Shuzhong, known as Zhang Wen, an envoy of Zhidou Eastern Wu) who was a native of Yizhou, Guanghan Mianzhu (present-day northern Deyang, Sichuan).
Zhao Yun's reason for opposition was that the thief was Cao Cao, not Sun Quan. Wei should be destroyed first, and the State of Wu would naturally surrender. Once the war with Eastern Wu began, it could not be resolved in a short period of time.
Qin Mi dissuaded Wu on the grounds that the time was not right and it would be difficult to win.
As a result, both of them were punished differently, so Zhao Yun could not follow Liu Bei to the east. Liu Bei asked him to stay in Jiangzhou and respond later. Qin Mi survived death because of Zhuge Liang's intercession, and was imprisoned, but was later pardoned.
Zhao Yun had once gone up the river from Jingzhou to Shu, was familiar with the geographical environment of this region, had experience in fighting in this region, and had both command ability and combat ability, no matter in which way, he was better than Wu Ban, Feng Xi, Huang Quan and other generals who were with Liu Bei. Not letting Zhao Yun go along should be a mistake by Liu Bei.
After Liu Bei defeated and retreated to the White Emperor City, thanks to Zhao Yun, he quickly descended the river and strengthened the defense of the White Emperor City. Sun Quan strictly ordered the troops not to continue to pursue and kill Liu Bei, in addition to preventing Cao Cao from taking advantage of the false south, Zhao Yun's timely arrival was also one of the factors.
From 191 AD to 223, when Liu Bei died, Zhao Yun faithfully followed Liu Bei for thirty-two years, fulfilling the original promise of "never betraying morality". After Liu Bei's death, Zhao Yun continued to serve the (Shu) Han Dynasty until his death in 229.
Because of the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", Zhao Yun's image in the folk was raised to the same height as Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, but in fact, this was not the case, Zhao Yun had always been under Guan, Zhang, and even Huang Zhong and Wei Yan in Liu Bei's group. Indeed, there is no more conclusive evidence to prove that Zhao Yun has the talent of a unique officer, Liu Bei is a very knowledgeable and employing lord, and can only trust Liu Bei. Before Liu Bei's death, Zhao Yun was by his side, and Liu Bei did not reuse him, but summoned Liu Zhang to surrender, at this time Li Yan, who was appointed as an auxiliary Han general and a taishou, came to see him, and handed over the military power of the (Shu) Han state to him, appointing him as the protector of the capital of Zhongdu and unifying the internal and external military forces.
Zhuge Liang reused Zhao Yun, but still regarded him as a second-rate talent. During the First Northern Expedition, Zhao Yun was not appointed as the main general (the main general would be Ma Chen, and the vanguard was Wei Yan), nor did he put Zhao Yun on the main battlefield, but he and Deng Zhi led a force to lure and confuse the Cao army in a place that was not the main battlefield. Also because Zhao Yun did not complete the task of containing the Cao Army, he was demoted from the General of Zhendong (one of the Four Towns) to the General of the Zhen army (Miscellaneous General).
It is not known whether Zhao Yun's official position was later restored, and there is no record of his deeds anyway.
Soon after Liu Chan succeeded to the throne, he once posthumously praised a group of former courtiers, which is a coffin theory of the life's achievements of this group of people, including these five people, and if you look closely at their nicknames, it also means a lot and implies mysteries.
Zhang Fei was the Marquis of Huan, Ma Chao was the Marquis of Wei, and Huang Zhong was the Marquis of Gang, the Marquis of Yizi. Guan Yu was the Marquis of ZhuangMiao, and Zhao Yun was the Marquis of Shunping. According to the precedent that the one-character king is higher than the two-character king, two conclusions can be drawn: one is that Zhao Yun's status is indeed after Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, and Huang Zhong, whether before or after death. It can also be seen from the matter of posthumous pursuit that Zhao Yun's status in the (Shu) Han Kingdom was not high. At first, Zhao Yun should not be among the posthumous, it was Liu Chan who proposed that Zhao Yun had accomplished his deeds when he followed Liu Bei, and that he had relied on Zhao Yun's protection when he was a child to get out of danger. The purpose of chasing after Him was to record the merits of the Yuanxun, and people outside felt that they should pursue Zhao Yun.

The emperor said that he wanted to pursue him, but of course he could only pursue him. Therefore, the great general Jiang Wei proposed that zhao yun should be posthumously honored as the Marquis of Shunping according to the law of the emperor, and the deacons should be ban Yueping, and the deacons should be punished as the Marquis of Shunping.
