Vietnam and Japan are beyond imagination! Vigilance should be exercised by both sides in jointly exerting pressure on China

author:Mu Chunshan talks about the world

Uncle Mu's international review analyzes the interaction between our two neighbors.

The two neighbors are Vietnam in Southeast Asia and Japan in the same boat.

Although Japan has invaded Vietnam in history, after the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in the 1970s, the relationship developed very rapidly, and now it is an "in-depth strategic partnership." From the data point of view, Japan is Vietnam's largest ODA donor, the second largest source of investment, the third largest tourism partner, and the fourth largest source of trade.

Vietnamese officials even commented on the relations between Vietnam and Japan: Vietnam has always been a friend and trusted partner of Japan, supporting Japan to play its role in the world and the region, and working with Japan to maintain regional peace, stability, cooperation and development.

Recently, there has been a new trend in high-level interaction between the two countries.

First, at the end of October in the United Kingdom, a United Nations climate conference was being held. Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Myint Jong met and met. At that time, the two talked about many important topics related to climate cooperation.

Vietnam and Japan are beyond imagination! Vigilance should be exercised by both sides in jointly exerting pressure on China

On November 22, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Myint Thom Đại arrived in Japan, becoming the first foreign head invited to visit Japan since the Kishida government took office. It can be seen that the relationship between Japan and Vietnam is indeed heating up.

Of course, in addition to the obvious complementarity of the relationship between the two sides, that is to say, there are more and more common goals. First, we both want to communicate with each other, and second, there are common factors for China.

Mr. Mu noted that Japan's Kyodo News Agency quoted the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on November 22 as saying that Vietnamese Prime Minister and Prime Minister Kishida Fumio are expected to hold consultations on promoting a "free and open Indo-Pacific region," taking into account China's maritime activities.

At present, we have not recognized the concept of the Indo-Pacific region, believing that this concept is relatively politically oriented and unfriendly to China. But Western allies, including Japan, such as the United States and Europe, have generally begun to use the term.

Vietnam is actually relatively open to this formulation. Uncle Mu noted that when communicating with Europeans, Vietnamese officials highly praised the "Indo-Pacific Security Strategy" of France and Germany and other countries.

In addition, a sign is that the Vietnamese prime minister was accompanied by the Vietnamese prime minister on his visit to Japan.

He and Nobuo Kishi, Japan's defense minister, will hold talks at the Ministry of Defense. This is also a sign that Japan and Vietnam have strengthened security and defense exchanges. The purpose is certainly also to address the development of the surrounding oceans. Of course, there is naturally a subtext in China.

Uncle Mu gives a few examples -

Their interaction was not limited to more than a month, as early as a year ago in October, Suga, who had just been elected prime minister of Japan, made Vietnam his first country since taking office, and it also triggered a lot of discussion in the Japanese media.

Now that Vietnam's prime minister has become the first foreign head of state to receive after the new Prime Minister Kishida Fumih hung took office, all this confirms the further strengthening of relations between Japan and Vietnam.

Who would have thought that Vietnam would have been the first target of Japanese diplomacy many times!

Uncle Mu learned that on the first day of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Jong's visit to Japan, he had already met with former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Alliance, Toshihiro 2nd Order, and that is the person who did not forget to pave the way for the development of relations between the two countries.

What is more interesting is that in order to reflect the national nature of Vietnam, in the Vietnamese official visit schedule in the next few days, Pham Minh Cheng will also meet with the head of the Japanese Communist Party. This is also one of the distinctive features of the Vietnamese Prime Minister's visit.
