Xining, November 20 (China News Service) "Two days ago, on my way to the countryside, I first encountered such a large-scale herd of Tibetan wild donkeys, which was really lucky, so it was not easy to record it with a camera at that time. Duo Tai, secretary of the Party Committee of Huanghe Township in Maduo County, Qinghai Province, recalled to reporters on the 20th that dozens of tibetan donkeys can be encountered at most in normal times, and this time it is estimated that there are five hundred Tibetan wild donkeys.

Maduo, meaning "the source of the Yellow River" in Tibetan, is located in the south of Qinghai Province, northwest of Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, located in the core hinterland of Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve, known as "the source of the Yellow River, the county of a thousand lakes".

Tibetan wild donkey is China's national first-class protected animals, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has a unique ungulate species, the shape resembles a donkey, horse hybrid mule produced, because the tail is slightly similar to a horse's tail, so some people also call it "wild horse", living in 4000 meters to 5500 meters of alpine desert environment, is the only wild strange ungulate on the plateau.

"The fact that herders can photograph such a large population of Tibetan wild donkeys at close range shows that the habitat of wild animals is complete and systematically protected, and wild animals have enough space to survive and become a veritable paradise for wild animals." Previously, they were all shot with infrared cameras, but this time it was not easy for herders to shoot at close range for the first time. Ma Gui, full-time deputy secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of the Management Committee of the Yellow River Source Park of Sanjiangyuan National Park and deputy director of the Maduo County Ecological Environment and Natural Resources Management Bureau, said in an interview with a reporter from the China News Agency on the 20th that this also reflects from the side that the local people and nature live in harmony and share the pure land of the plateau, and this state of survival and life is closer to the "true color" of nature.

Ma Gui said that in recent years, Maduo County has increased its efforts to protect the ecological environment, taking the construction of national parks as the starting point, and actively providing a good living environment for the habitat and reproduction of various wild animal populations such as Tibetan wild donkeys, black-necked cranes, and white-lipped deer, and the number of various wild animal populations in the county has been increasing.
