Tibetan wild donkey is China's national first-class protected animals, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has a unique ungulate species, the shape resembles a donkey, horse hybrid mule, because the tail is slightly similar to a horse's tail, so some people also call it "wild horse", living in 4000 meters to 5500 meters in the alpine desert environment, is the only wild chickadee on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Maduo, meaning "the source of the Yellow River" in Tibetan, is located in the core hinterland of the Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve, known as the "source of the Yellow River, the county of a thousand lakes". In recent years, Maduo County has increased its efforts to protect the ecological environment, taking the construction of national parks as the starting point, and actively providing a good living environment for the habitat and reproduction of various wild animal populations such as Tibetan wild donkeys, black-necked cranes, and white-lipped deer, and the number of various wild animal populations in the county has been increasing.
