On November 13, four members of the Kunming Natural Resources Comprehensive Survey Center of the China Geological Survey disappeared from the field operation in the hinterland of Ailao Mountain in Zhangbin Village, Zhangbin Village, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province.
Public photos and videos at the scene show that the mountain of Ailao is steep, lush with trees and large fog. The search and rescue people wore storm jackets and raincoats to protect themselves from the cold and rain, and carried hiking sticks and other auxiliary tools to move forward together.
Regarding the progress of the search and rescue, the duty officer of the Propaganda Department of the Zhenyuan County People's Government told reporters that the leaders were all out and did not understand the situation at the scene. A staff member of the office of the people's government of Zhidong Town said that it was inconvenient to disclose the relevant information, and the official information prevailed.
According to other media reports, at about 9 o'clock on the 13th, 4 missing team members entered the field operation of Ailao Mountain, and planned to go down the mountain on the afternoon of the 13th or the morning of the 14th. Therefore, they only brought dry food for one day. But the four players did not descend the mountain within the expected planned time.
According to the news of the Zhenyuan Yi Hani Lahu Autonomous County People's Government Network on the morning of November 19, the Zhenyuan County People's Government received a report of missing personnel at 19:28 on November 15, and after receiving the report, the Zhenyuan County Party Committee and government attached great importance to it and immediately set up the "11.15" Rescue Command Center for Missing Personnel, and organized the provinces, cities, counties, towns, and villages to invest more than 1,000 person-times of search and rescue personnel, more than 110 vehicles, 14 satellite phones, 5 drones, 2 helicopters, and related materials and technical equipment to carry out search and rescue. Because the missing place is located in the Ailao Mountain National Nature Reserve, the mountain shape is steep, the trees are dense, the ravines are longitudinal, the average altitude is more than 2500 meters, the geographical environment is very complicated, coupled with the rain and fog for several days, which has brought great difficulties to the search and rescue work.
