Yuan Yingzong could have achieved the Zhongxing of the Yuan Dynasty, why was he killed by the guards at a young age

author:Zhang Shengquan's wonderful history

In 1323, on the night of the fourth day of the first month of the lunar calendar, in the Nanpo shop tent 30 miles south of Shangdu, Yuan Yingzong, the emperor of the world's largest empire at that time, was leaning on his bed to pick up a lamp and read at night.

The 21-year-old boy Tianzi has been in charge of this huge empire for 3 years. He has just eliminated a traitorous party headed by Temudier. He is waiting to show his fists and feet, be determined to reform, and vow to bring the Yuan Empire to the prosperous world.

Suddenly, there was a noise outside the tent, and the angry shouts of Zuo Cheng's worship were faintly heard. Yuan Yingzong got out of bed in his clothes and planned to summon the guards to check the situation together.

Before Yuan Yingzong could open his mouth, his tent door was rudely kicked open. The leader of the Forbidden Army, whose eyes were red and covered in blood, broke in with a steel knife in his hand, and without saying a word, stabbed Yuan Yingzong in the chest and stabbed him to the ground.

Looking at Yuan Yingzong's painful and angry expression, Tie Lost did not have the slightest pity, and once again took up the bloody cold knife and slashed several knives in a row, until Yuan Yingzong died on the spot.

At this time, outside the tent, Yuan Yingzong's minister, Zuo Chengxiang, who was only 28 years old, also fell in a pool of blood, and had long since lost his breath.

Two young monarchs with great ambitions and lofty ambitions died tragically under the sword lost by the leader of the forbidden army, resulting in the famous "Change of the Southern Slope" in history.

So, what is the cause of the "south slope change"? How did this incident affect the Yuan Dynasty?

Although Emperor Yuanyingzong was said to be the eldest son of Emperor Yuanrenzong, according to the agreement between Emperor Yuanrenzong and his eldest brother Emperor Yuanwuzong that "brothers and brothers and uncles pass on the generations", he should not have inherited the unification. However, in 1316, Emperor Yuanrenzong broke his original oath and made his eldest son Shuode Bajia crown prince.

In the first month of 1320, after the death of Emperor Motohito, his mother Empress Dowager was impatient to reappointed Temudi'er as the Right Minister. This Temudi'er has been the king of the Yuan Dynasty for five generations, has a prominent power, and is deeply favored by the empress dowager.

As soon as Temudi'er was in power, he took advantage of the fact that Shuode Bala had not yet officially succeeded to the throne, and launched a great cleansing of the political enemies in the court, "bullying his power and favor, taking advantage of the poison, and blinding his selfishness, and not repaying anything." Yushi Zhongzhong Yang Duo'er, Zhongshu Pingzhang Xiao Baizhu and others all fell to the ground in an instant, and all the important courtiers of the imperial court were silent for a while, trembling and frightened.

In just three months, Temudian did only one thing, that is, killing, arresting, deposing, and replacing people, not only rectifying his former opponents, but also transferring his confidants such as Black Donkey to important posts, vigorously cultivating his own forces, and preparing for the confrontation with Shuode Bajia.

In April 1320, Shuode Bala finally succeeded to the throne as Emperor Yingzong of Yuan, but in the face of TemuDi'er's arrogance, he appointed Baizhu as Zhongshu Zuo Chengxiang and secretly cultivated his own men and horses to accumulate strength, while playing the Taoguang and obscure strategy, temporarily avoiding TemuDier's sharp edge and waiting for the opportunity.

This worshipper is very powerful, and his high ancestor Muhuali once followed Genghis Khan to kill all four sides and made great achievements. His grandfather, An Tong, was twice the prime minister of kublai Khan, and had the talent of heaven and earth. His father died young, and under the careful teaching of his mother, he was deeply influenced by Han culture and grew into a new star in the political arena with both benevolence and courtesy.

When Shuo De Ba La was crown prince, he had long heard of the daimyo. One day, Shuo De Bazhao went to the Eastern Palace to ask for advice, but was rebuffed by the worshipper: "I am the Heavenly Son's guard of the Long Palace, and I must not communicate with the prince privately according to the ceremony. "It can be seen that the upright personality of worshiping the party is not selfish.

Under the planning of BaiZhu, Yuan Yingzong took the battalion step by step and began to systematically cut off Temudi's henchmen. Unwilling to tie his hands, Temudian joined forces with the black donkey to prepare for a coup d'état and established the young King of An, Wudu, as emperor, so that he could continue to control the government.

However, Timmudian's move was learned by Bai, and he quickly extinguished the gang's plan, arrested some of the participants, and executed them to raid their homes.

He hoped to take this opportunity to wipe out Temu Di'er's gang, but the young and old Yuan Yingzong not only spared Temu Di'er and rewarded him with some of the property of the confiscated rebels, but also crowned him as Shangzhu Guoguo and Taishi, intending to stabilize Temu Di'er.

Yuan Yingzong wanted to give everything to time, because time is the most difficult to overcome.

Sure enough, Temudian, like a frightened bird, never got sick again. Dragging on until August 1322, Temudian finally died of fear. Two months later, the empress dowager also died of illness.

Breaking free from the shackles, Yuan Yingzong began his path of drastic reform.

First, he re-established the rule of law. Emperor Yingzong of Yuan formulated and promulgated the eighty-eight volumes of the Great Yuan Tong System, which filled many legal gaps in the dynasties of the Yuan Dynasty and made the Great Yuan Tong System the most important legal code of the Yuan Dynasty.

Second, Yuan Yingzong punished corruption. In addition to overthrowing Temudier and stripping him of all titles and titles after his death, he also beheaded his eldest son, deposed his second son, and netted All of Temudier's henchmen.

However, Yuan Yingzong regretted to let go of the iron loss, so that later raising tigers was a big mistake. Tie Fei was only the adopted son of Temu Di'er, and although he was inextricably linked to Temu Di'er's case, because his own sister was Empress Yuanyingzong's empress Dowager Ba la, Yuan Yingzong not only "pardoned" him, but also promoted him to be the imperial master, and entrusted the emperor's personal forbidden army to his command.

The iron loss with military power finally struck a blow against Yuan Yingzong, and suddenly attacked, which caught Yuan Yingzong by surprise and did not pay for his ambition, which was probably the most wrong place for Yuan Yingzong.

Later, in The Further Liquidation of Temudiel by Emperor Yuanyingzong, Tie Lost exposed many evil deeds. In order to protect himself, he decided to take the risk and carefully planned the bloody and cruel "South Slope Change".

Third, Yuan Yingzong attaches great importance to people's livelihood and is committed to reducing the burden on the people. He implemented the "Jin-AidEd Enlistment Law", which reduced the heavy servitude of the Han people and controlled the peasants' burden of servitude within 3%, so that the vast number of peasants, especially the Han people, benefited from it.

Fourth, Emperor Yuan Yingzong reused Han Chen. Under the strong recommendation of the Confucian worshipper, a large number of Han courtiers were successively promoted and reused, and Zhang Jue, Wang Jie, Wang Yue, Wu Xian and others were among the best. Many Han Chinese were also appointed as local officials, and many Han Chinese were ordered to serve in the Six Ministries.

These reform measures have played an immediate role in the revival of the Yuan Dynasty, and the Yuan Empire has a renewed appearance in Vientiane. But all this came to an abrupt end on the bloody night of the "South Slope Change".

If there is no "change on the southern slope", let Yuan Yingzong live for one or two more years, perhaps there will be another "prosperous era" in history, and the Yuan Dynasty will not perish in less than a hundred years.
