Xianghai Wetland Reserve Located in the northwest of Tongyu County in Baicheng Region, Xianghai Wetland Reserve is a national nature reserve with an area of 106,700 hectares facing the south of the seawater reservoir and the eastern border of the Horqin Grassland. It is a scenic spot based on the natural landscapes such as swamps, birds and beasts, yellow elms, reeds, apricot groves and fishing that are the original characteristics of the grasslands in western China, and is known as "changbai in the east and sea in the west". It constitutes a group of beautiful idylls, a light and elegant genre painting. The area is rich in natural resources, with more than 200 species of herbs and more than 20 species of trees; There are more than 20 species of fish, 173 species of birds and 15 species of cranes, accounting for 40% of the existing cranes in the world; Rare birds include red-crowned cranes, white-naped cranes, white-headed cranes, gray cranes, white cranes, swans, golden eagles, etc., which have become well-known "crane towns" and have now been included in the world's A-class wetland list. It is also a natural zoo for a variety of animals, living in the meadows and woods with more than 30 kinds of large and small animals such as roe deer, mountain rabbits, yellow sheep, foxes, hunters, gray wolves, weasels, and ai tigers.
