The ancient people would use the White Lotus Sect to revolt, and the power and influence of the White Lotus Sect in the north during the Qianlong period were still very large. At that time, some lawbreakers often said that the other party colluded with the White Lotus Sect when reporting the false accusations, which was a major crime of killing heads in ancient times. In the forty-fourth year of Qianlong (1779), there was a case of temporary workers.
It is said that there are two people named Qian Ronglu and Yan Zhiqian, who have some culture and have served as scholars in the local garrison. This so-called calligraphy refers to the temporary staff set up by the imperial court in addition to the scribes. If the scribe is short of a quota, it can be replaced by a book. These two men had served as clerks in the garrison in Zhengding Town, and although the salary was not high, it was an errand after all.
Later, the two men were dismissed for making mistakes, and they always had plans to return to their posts, but Chen Dashou, who served as the commander-in-chief of Zhengding Town, refused to approve it impartially, which made the two people resentful. They accused Ren Tianxiang and others of Gaoping County, Shanxi, of colluding with the White Lotus Sect with the intention of committing wrongdoing.
However, after investigating this matter, it was found that it was a figment, and there was no evidence or books related to the White Lotus Sect in the Ren family. The two men were completely fabricated. After verification, the investigators found that the two people wanted to go back to continue to be scholars, but Chen Da was not allowed, they held a grudge but did not have the strength to overthrow him and came up with a bad idea.

Chen Dasheng was the commander-in-chief of Zhengding Town at that time, which was similar to today's local garrison commander, and was the Erpin military attaché of the imperial court. Chen Da was born into the Wuxun family, and his great-grandfather Chen Fu was the viceroy of Shaanxi in the early Qing Dynasty, who died in the San Francisco Rebellion. Chen Fu's younger brother Chen Qi was the commander-in-chief of Tianjin. Chen Fu's son Chen Shilin and grandson Chen Yi also served as commanders-in-chief.
Chen Da was appointed as the viceroy of Jiangnan, and later one of his subordinates (from the Sanpin military attaché) Yang Tianxiang was framed and killed by the governor while fighting pirates, and Chen Da was punished for this. During the Jiaqing period, Chen Da was retired with the rank of garrison official. The garrison was the military attaché of Zheng Wupin, while the viceroy was from the official position of Yipin, so it seems that Chen Da's demotion in his later years was great.
